DVC discount vs. Disney Visa discount

So we just got a Disney Visa, and I see you can get a discount if you use your card on "select merchandise" and at "select locations." Can you still get that discount if you use your DVC member discount?

And while I'm thinking of this new Disney Visa - it says there are special character meet-n-greets at the parks. Anyone know where I can find out more about this?

The EPCOT character meet and greet (in one of the Innovations) was really nice. We only had to wait for one family in the line front of us, and were allowed to meet the characters at our own pace instead of feeling rushed in a group like the other character areas.

We do the meet & greet each visit. It's in the Innovations West behind the fire truck exhibit. Usually a short queue but moves pretty quickly. Nice one-on-one time with the characters. It's always been Mickey, Minnie, Goofy. Usually Pluto but I think one time it was a different character and can't remember who. Maybe Donald?
They give you a coupon for the free picture. You take it to the Photo shop and pick the one you like. That always takes longer than the meet & greet for us.
