Has anybody heard the rumour that the DVC discount is going to increase to 20% on Saturday? I saw some chatter elsewhere and wondered if anybody here heard the same? Apparently people were told by more than one CM in more than one park about the change which peaked my interest...

Yeah I had heard both were going up, but I am more interested in the DVC one going up as I don't currently hold an AP ;)

Isn't the AP purchase price also supposed to go up this weekend? If the discount is going up to 20% I anticipate an associated increase in AP price. I think I'll go buy my new ones now.

On another forum there's mention of an extra month for new purchases without a price increase, so I would wait for that to be clear before purchasing. We have a voucher already so this probably doesn't help us :/

Yep, it's all over facebook this morning. Been following it. Already on the passholder site. Here's some info.

DVC merchandise increase to 20%. Meal discount still 10%, but some new quick service locations added, esp. at the resorts and at least 1 per park. Other new locations too.

AP merchandise increase to 20%. Meal discount NOW 20%, on 45 locations (same as DVC locations) with a few quick service locations. There is a list. I Like that you can get a discount at the resorts now....check the list.

new AP offer. buy an AP Oct-Jan and get an extra month. (I'm waiting for info whether we can buy within that timeframe but activate later in 2017 and still get the extra month). The Orlando newspaper said it includes renewals..... Can't find anything on the DVC website, though some have found info on mobile site. The passholder site has some of this info, esp. the locations. I've been glued to FB all morning.

You could always hold the voucher and buy new. I'm still sitting on a child's AP voucher from 2012. Paid $299 for it back then. Have to activate this spring before my granddaughter turns 10.

So if me and dw have APs now that expire in April 2017.....can we buy a voucher and activate it when our current passes expire to take advantage of the extra month?

Lucky us. We are upgrading 7 day hoppers to gold APs on Tuesday. Because of poor planning on my part I thought that we would have to buy new APs next October for our MNSSHP trip in 2017, but the 13 months will get us another trip on the APs we buy this week! And the discounts will be great, including for dining. We quit buying TIW when the price went up to $150.

Those are questions we are all waiting to find out. We would love to buy the passes within the timeframe and not activate them until May 2017. All it says right now is if you buy an AP Oct. 2 to Jan. 2 (?) you will get an extra month. It doesn't say anything about when you have to activate them, or if its only for passes purchased at the parks/ticket window.
