Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought I'd read here that DVC members were given the opportunity to buy MNSSHP tickets at a discount at least a few days prior to when they are offered to the general public. On the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board, someone posted that MNSSHP tickets are going on sale May 1.

Am I mistaken here? Did they never offer this discount? Just not offering it anymore?

I've never seen them offer them to DVC members prior to being available to the general public.

There will probably be nights that are available at a discount to DVC Members and AP Holders just like in prior years.

Gotcha. I must have misinterpreted someone's post in the past. So when I call to buy tickets, I ask if there are any nights that are DVC or AP holder discounts? Or do they only offer these discounts later as it gets closer to "game time" if they haven't sold enough?

Sorry - MNSSHP first timer here. Can't wait to go! :-)

There should be discounted dates when Disney officially announces the dates and prices. They have also extended the discount to previously non-discounted nights before.

There's no need to buy MNSSHP tickets in May. They never sell out until much closer to the party dates.

If you are going on Halloween itself or the weekend before, it is very, very unlikely that there will be any discounts offered.

If you are going in September or the first half of October, just be patient and wait for them to announce the nights that will have discounts.

last few visits in early October sunday & thursday parties had the DVC discounts

Not to be a commercial for Visa, but you get a 10% discount whne you buy those tickets with the Disney Visa card. Actually, a lot of tours and some tickets, you get a 10% discount.

They have been announced on the theme parks board:

There is special discount pricing for DVC Members and all levels of Annual Passholders (except water parks and DQ APs)

Valid the following nights only:

September 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30: $49.95 Adult / $43.95 Ages 3-9 (Plus tax)
October 2, 6, 10, 11, 16, 18, 20, 23 and 25: $52.95/$47.95

These must be purchased in advance and will not be available the day of the event.

A Passholder may purchase up to four tickets and a DVC Member up to six tickets.

All tickets must be set up for will-call and either a valid AP or DVC Membership must be shown at that time.

10% off the full price or the advance price? Disney advertises a $10 discount for AP and DVC holders but the catch is it is off the full price, not the advance price so it only ends up being around $4.

Anyone been able to buy MNSSHP tickets with the DVC dicount yet? I see you can order them online, but they don't have the DVC price online. when Icalled MS yesterday they couldn't sell them yet?

You have to go thru the member website to see the DVC pricing. Go to the WDW section of Member Perks and follow the links like you are going to purchase an AP online. Once you get to the ticket store, change the ticket type to Special Events and you will see MNSSHP & MVMCP tickets available for purchase.

They are up already?? I'll check later and hope DLR is up also :)

Thanks for this, I was trying to figure out how to buy tickets without calling...but couldn't see anywhere...!

Managed to buy my tickets, I know our date probably won't see out but the exchange rate is better than it has been for a while so I wanted to get tickets in case it drops :)

Wrong with this! Visa doesn't get you the discount...and you do get %20 off on some tours...had to dig stuff back out!:surfweb:

Quick question, this might be me being stupid but when I go on the member site it shows MNSSHP and MVMCP twice with the same dates for WDW but with diff prices. I'm confused.... I want to make sure that if we purchase the cheaper tickets that they will be honored.
