Did I read somewhere that DVC members get 20% off lunch at Chef's de France? And if so, does that include their "special" French meal for $14.95 (appetizer, sandwich, and creme brulee)? I was wondering because if that's true 20% off, even for that, tha makes for a very reasonable lunch I might want to try.

It is the member news on the DVC website. Here are the exact words:

Les Chefs de France (French pavilion) at Epcot
Sit down to traditional French cuisine in a brasserie straight out of Paris. Members receive a 20% discount at lunch only (excluding alcoholic beverages, tax, and gratuity). Not valid on major holidays. Theme Park admission is not included, but is required.

I don't see how they couldn't disciount their special based on what's here but you never know.

We received the discount a month ago, and I had ordered the lunch special($14.95). I have to admit, though, that this restaurant had the WORST service we have ever had at a restaurant! The waiter got everything wrong, and the only order he had right was brought out 20 minutes before everyone else's food. We were there for lunch on 10/9(the day Epcot closed early), and our PS was for 1:15 pm. We were leaving the restaurant at 3 as Epcot was closing, and we all agreed...Never again.

We had dinner there on Oct 26th. Rather expensive, but ohhhh what a meal. We had the cheesecake for dessert, and it was worth the whole meal. Service was by no means slow or bad. Although not as good as Palio, but still good. Just wanted to give my 2cents worth. Would I eat there again, YES!

..... DW and I both had the "special" and they honored the 20% discount, but wanted to see our DVC membership card, even though our room key said "Member".

What I didn't like about the lunch was that they charged us for my DW's diet cola refill. When the waiter asked "would you care for another", we assumed it was N/C as it is in every other WDW restaurant we've eaten in. Ah... those little things the French do, no wonder the place was empty at 12:30 in the afternoon.

I would have asked the server about the charge for the soft drink refill.....and even though it may not be the server's fault....if the charge was correct....the tip would have been reduced. A smart server should not charge for a soft drink refill if one has ordered a decent amount of food. Personal opinion, only.
