Yeah wow, potentially they could’ve gotten an Oct or Dec UY with 18 years worth of points since it would also include 2024’s allotment. That gets it closer to $15pp/py territory ($15.28). Still not a blazing hot deal but the flipside of 2042 is less time for estimated TVM to compound lol.

I’m going to amend my statement to reflect that the 2042 points can be used for another 5,883 days (per Siri) as of 7:45pm PST on 12/23/2025…..

Let’s update the numbers to show what the difference would be at the contract expiration assuming you park the money in an investment that compounds daily at a 4% annualized rate of return.

300 points direct @ $275pp is $82,500
300 points direct @ $135pp is $40,400

N= 5,883 (days)
I= 4%/354.24 = .011 daily interest
PV= $82,500 - $40,400 = -$42,100.00
PMT= $0
Solve for FV = $80,410.29

Actually, I think Siri got that wrong. I'm seeing that from 12/23/25-1/31/2042 is 5883 days.

That calc is giving you what the account balance would be in 5,883 days, but in future value tense — in 2042 dollars. You’d want to factor in an inflation presumption to translate that back to ‘25/‘26 dollars? Or are you thinking an equity investment with 4% real return?
