DVC Direct Nov 25 Sales

Thanks for posting. The most interesting line to me:

"Despite November, DVC point sales in 2025 have already surpassed 2024’s point total (1,703,032 points to 1,693,637) with one month still to go."

So, with both increasing prices and an increase in year over year number of points sold, looking like a pretty good year for DVD, I would think.

Here is the link to the DVC News November 2025 sales article:

Interesting trend with 2042s still selling, a few 25 pointers, and overall less points sold.
A single 300 BCV direct contract at $275pp…..

That’s $82,500 upfront + closing costs and $2,943 in annual dues….

That’s $18.33 a point upfront + $9.81 in dues + $10.86pp in lost interest on that money… OR nearly $39pp and its worth $0 in 15 years….

I know waiting a 60’days for resale points is a PITA… but that’s $41,250 for the same points and $1650 in lost interest …

JUST PAY CASH!

I think it conclusively proves that PIT was a good idea for DVC, even if I don't particularly like it. Not everything has to be for everyone, and that's okay.

In comparison to PIT, it seems that CFW is for nobody.

Mind boggling

If they purchased resale they would have $75,000 more dollars in 15 years at a 4% interest rate & would have had the same amount of DVC points available to use the whole time….. SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
Maybe they thought it was worth it to be able to use those points at RIV and CFW. LOL. Or maybe Moonlight Magic - they really wanted to be eligible for Moonlight Magic 🤣.

The heart wants what it wants. Sometimes it just wants to spend money 😁

And sometimes people have money that is a lot of disposable money and for them that difference simply doesn’t matter

I work with people who have a LOT of disposable money. Usually the reason they have it is because they don’t spend $41,250 more than they have to….

If they don’t want to buy resale then they would be better off not buying DVC and just paying cash for the rooms…

And here I am, still hesitant to buy CCV direct WITH incentives. Just waiting for @airjay75 to announce he bought CCV direct to give the nudge necessary. *sigh*
I’d help you out if I could, but I think I’ve decided I’m waiting to the very last minute to make a decision and to also save a few bucks on the prorated dues. If they pull the sale before then, I’ll just be content with my current resale points.

Coincidentally our use year is also October so all the more reason to wait for us too ha! We do have enough points in general for our trips but we fell in love with wilderness lodge our last trip and want to be able to stay there in the fall/holiday season. Not thinking of selling anything though. We usually stay in 2BR and those eat up the points quickly.

I can imagine if it were a gift, above all the most important value might be in giving it.

17 years of a nice sized BCV contract, unrestricted, full club access, at an amazing resort, possibly with personal meaning attached.

My friend bought his wife a gorgeous new car for an important milestone in their life. This wasn’t the time to focus on cost/utility. It was meant as a token of his love, making dreams come to life.

It’s the season of giving so who knows?

Or maybe someone gave themselves a 15 year loan. I take that back, can’t imagine it 😅

Well, at least the nice thing about CCV is that it is pretty tough to beat their points chart on 2 BRs - certainly not in the MK area, and I don't think LSL is going to come close to as good of a point chart. I imagine our family is eventually going to move to 2 BRs, and I definitely find that appealing about CCV over the long-term. And, if you want to splurge, you've got the cabins and GVs as options too.

I agree with that. CCV really shines once you start looking beyond 1BRs and think long-term. The 2BR point chart is hard to beat anywhere, but especially in the MK area, and it gives you a lot of flexibility as your family grows without feeling like you’re overpaying in points every stay.

You also hit on a big advantage that sometimes gets overlooked: CCV scales really well. You can comfortably do standard 2BRs most trips, and then when you want to splurge, the cabins or Grand Villas are right there as aspirational options without having to own at a different resort. That kind of built-in upgrade path is valuable.

I’m with you on LSL, too — it will be beautiful and new, but it’s very hard to imagine Disney pricing those 2BRs anywhere near CCV levels. From a long-term points efficiency perspective, CCV feels like one of the safest MK-area holds, especially for families eventually moving into larger units.
