we are going next april and plan on being on the dining plan. WE are DVC members so they ressie is in our name.. my inlaws will be coming down Sunday-Friday. We will be there Sunday-Saturday. Do they have to pay for Friday even though they are leaving Friday?

Yes. The Dining Plan must be purchased for everyone on the reservation for all nights of the reservation.

In this situation, you can actually take advantage of the extra credits and use them for a signature restaurant.

We too have asked about this, and everyone that will be on the reservation will begin their dining plan on the first day of the stay. Like the previous posterwe used the points to our advantage and had dinner at a signature resturant as well as added in an additional character meal.

They will be leaving on Friday, thus they are staying a total of 5 nights. They must pay for 5 days of the dining plan.

Everyone in the room has to pay for the full length of the reservation. Since the reservation is Sunday to Saturday, all must pay 6 nights. The only way around it is for them to get a separate room for 5 nights or the OP move on Friday to another room.
