We have a two night DVC stay planned, but I want to book the DDP for the first night only. When will the credits expire? Will they be valid until midnight on the second day? I'm confused about this because normally they expire midnight on the day of checkout, but we are not checking out on the second day obviously.:confused3

If they expire midnight second day, I can stretch the credits out over two days since Day One we will be eating breakfast on the Disney Dream:love:

Thanks:goodvibes

The credits will expire at midnight the day after your first night. So, no, the credits won't be available on the 3rd day of your stay (the day after your second night)...I think that's what you're asking?

So you will have the credits the day of check in and the day after. You can basically pick which night you want the plan for - it will be valid for the two days adjacent to the night.

If you have booked a 2 night stay then you have to buy 2 nights worth of the dining plan- you have to buy the plan for your entire stay.

Your Credits will expire at midnight the day after you check in if you choose to have it for your first nights stay.

The only way you can buy the dining plan for only the first night would be if you had a separate reservation for each night. The policy is that if you buy the dining plan, you have to buy it for your entire stay. We are staying in a studio our first night, so I bought the dining plan for that night. We move to a 1BR the next day, so that's a separate reservation. The credits will expire at midnight of the day we check out of the studio and check into the 1BR.

as stated your points expire at midnight

And you do not have to get the plan for all nights. DVC changed that; you can book DDP for only select nights. They will continue/segment your reservation in order to do it. Since this is new there have some glitches but it seems to be getting better. You will have to get new keys but you don't have to move from your room.

Not with DVC. You can segment a trip and get it for select nights. We are doing this with our summer stay--one night of the DXDDP and maybe one night of the DDP (not sure yet).

To OP, your credits will be good for the night you get them and until midnight the next night. Technically, when you book for only one night like this, your reservation is segmented and you are considered to have to check out/in. You don't have to move rooms or anything but that is why they expire that 2nd day.

Thanks for your replies, everyone!!! This is great news and another reason to love my DVC!!!

Technically, you'll have two reservations. One with the dining plan and one without. So you have to get a new room key for the last night.
