DVC Dining Plan over New Year's

I have an upcoming trip that is 12/30/07 to 1/2/08 staying at AKV WITH the dining plan. We then move to BCV 1/2/08 to 1/5/08 WITHOUT the dining plan.

It is my understanding that we will be on the old plan for our entire stay at AKV but what will happen when we go to dinner on 1/1/08. Will they automatically know we are on the old plan and taxes and gratuity will be included? or do you think they will try to charge us for them?

I've been wondering the same thing, since we're checking in on 12/26/07. The answer I was given by Disney Dining is that our KTTW card will show the check-in date, so that's how the servers will know we are on the 2007 plan. I hope this turns out to be the case!

Thats weird, I have the SAME vacation plans as you do. AKV Same dates, Then over to BVC 2-6. And we are doing the DDP the same also. Small world, but anyways I called disney a couple of months ago and they told me that we would have the old DDP for the whole AKV trip. Since we are starting the trip on the old plan it would be just that until we checked out. Meaning if we were checking out on the 6th instead of the 2nd at AKV, we would have the old plan until the 6th. She said if we have any trouble to just get the manager and he would sort it out. I am sure ALOT of people have been calling about it and they are prepared for it.

We check-in on the 27th, staying until Jan 2nd. We are on the Dining Plan too. Since we are checking in on the 27th, the plan is good for our whole stay.

You are checking in on January 1st at BCV. You will be on the 2008 plan when you check-in. Unless its just a room/resort change, then you might have the 2007 DDP for yout whole trip. I would call Disney Dining and ask them direct how your upcoming trip will be handled.

Thanks for everyone for their response. It was the answer that I received from DVC but the person I spoke with just seemed a little unsure of her response and I figured others had to be in the same boat.

This is what I have been told. If you check into a resort in 2007 your KTTW is coded with the 2007 Dining Plan. If you check into a resort in 2008 your KTTW is coded with the 2008 Dining Plan. We will be at AKV from 12/26 - 12/31 in a concierge studio (we'll have 1 day overlap with you ) and then we're moving to BWV on 12/31 until 1/5. I was told that I would have the 2007 Dining Plan for my whole stay at BWV.

We're planning to hang out at the lounge on 12/31 in the afternoon while we wait for our BWV studio to become available. I HOPE that I don't have an illegal extender (or what ever they are called!). I didn't want to move on the 31st but my husband wanted to stay at AKV as long as possible.
