DVC Cruise

Has anyone recieved notice of a DVC cruise on Oct 21/07? I have a booking for that date but it has been Disneys list for a few months. Called Disney and they said that the ship might be chartered but didn't say who.

TA called today to confirm that the boat has been chartered but didn't say who. Now working with Disney to see if they will honor our price to move up our 2 bookings by one week?

In the past the reason for a 4 night over 7 night has been the cost in points, or so they say, since a good portion use their points to pay. I think in 2008 or 2009 it will be a 7 night cruise. Also a contributing factor could be the entertainment level since it seems hard for DVC to find enough talent to make the 4 night special. That is the most likely reason we still don't have the email stating who is sailing with us this year like Art Linkletter and Susan Egan last year. That email came out a little more than a week of sailing.

someone posted on the cruise line forum that they had a reservation on the 10/21/07 Wonder and then they got a call from their TA that DCL was bumping them because this cruise was chartered for the DVC cruise. So I'm going to plan on that info. Hope this helps,Angel

Beginning of July, I priced out dates for a 4 night DCL beginning in Oct. 07.

There was no cruise listed for 10/21 @ that time. All other 4 night Sunday sailings were intact.

Since the Wonder was set to be refurbished early this month, assumed it was set aside for DVC.

Can't find my notes but, believe the member cruise for '05 was far more expensive (on cash basis) that a "regular" cruise.

Anyone know if you can pay "cash only" for member cruise or must points be involved for part of booking?

I just got off the phone with MS and the CM said to expect the announcement next friday 10/27. I hope she's right....to all of you going this year have a magical voyage!

Yes, you can pay cash for all or part of this sailing (or none if you want to use points). It is more expensive than a regular cruise, both in 2005 and 2006 and I expect in 2007 as well.

Do I dare ask how much more expensive than the regular cruise? Is it really worth the extra cost?
