We are NOT DVC memebers at this time, although we are considering it. I am trying to plan our next trip possibly for 2/13/10 for 10 days...I am interested in a 3 BR BWV since we are a family of 6 and need the space (or any place else that would fit us). How does that work for someone who is not a member? I would rent points from a memeber? How do I know how many I need? How do I find an member willing to rent? Am I saving money by renting points? I have been reading the boards about DVC but I just don't get it. :confused3

See the [thread=1669863]Considering Renting from a DVC Member?[/thread] thread for some background information on "renting points".

For number of points, you go to the "DVC Point Charts" at the top of this page, then to BWV chart. It gives you the time of year and point costs (weekly and per night) for that time of year and room size). To rent, you go to the rent/trade board on this site and put in your request for what you want and when and you wait for a response.

Note, however, that what you are requesting is unlikely something to be available. The 3BR Grand Villas are hard to get unless the reservation is made exactly 11 months out (when members can start making reservations at their home resort) because there are only a small number of them. Also, point wise, that would be the highest cost; in your case about 1012 points because you would have two weekends in your nine night stay and weekend points required -- Friday and Saturday night -- are much higher than other nights; so you are likely looking at a cost in the $12,000 range, although that would still be less than what Disney charges for the room that time of year.

Also note that the 2BRs hold up to 8. You have a king in the master, a pull out queen in the living room, and a queen and a pull-out double in the second bedroom. You should be able to get that through the rent/trade board

I doubt if you could find a member with enough points. You would need 1094. The average member has less than 300. Your cost for the rental would be about $12,000.00. Renting is less expensive than getting the same room through Disney. Good luck.

I think you would be fine in a two bedroom. We just did a two bedroom at BCV with 8 people and we had plenty of room.

I think you may be right. I found a floor plan online. I didn't realize there were two full beds in the 2nd bedroom. That'd work. Thanks for the info.

Actually, not all the BCV 2nd bedrooms have two queen beds. Only a few of them do. The other 2 bedrooms at BCV have 1 queen ged and 1 queen sleepsofa.

You might consider doing OKW 2 bedroom where you will have aproximately 1410 square feet of space including 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, and a queen sleep sofa. There is also a love seat in the unit which could accommodate a small child.

In the OP they want to stay at BWV. What beds are available there?

All the BWV 2 BR units are lockoffs

One king in the master bedroom
One pullout in the living room
One queen and one pullout in the second bedroom

The pullouts at DVC are very nice - none of that "two inch thick matress, bar in the middle of your back"
