Hi, We are frequent WDW visitors and were sent an email invite 'DVC is coming to Boston'. Obviously an event geared towards drumming up DVC purchases. We are not DVC members but do have timeshare access through parents and in-law via II/RCI, which we use in Orlando.

We signed up for the event but wondering if it will be a waste or time or not. Would be neat to see some Disney Magic in Boston, will characters be there? Says they will, also free snacks? Hard sell?

Thought it might be a neat way to spend a day in Boston with the family...

Any thoughts? Experiences with it? Thanks....

I had read reports from another area that had one of these "shows" come to their area (Chicago, pre-store?) and they said it was a good time with characters/music a few snacks & of course the presentation. I'm signed up for Friday with my kids (teen & preteen, so I'm hoping it's not too lame - I just want to know what they'll offer for add on incentives)

BTW - Disney NEVER does the hard sell... they don't need to :rotfl:

I've never been to one but I think it will be a lot of fun. We are going to make a day of it and aftewards go to the museum of science then grab a bite to eat in the north end. I think it's well worth the trip if you make a day out of it (although I probably still would go just for the DVC event).

When are you going?

We're just going for the trip to Boston....and to test our will power

ABSOLUTELY GO!!!!

We went to one in Chicago and there is absolutely ZERO pressure to buy any or additional points. We had a blast, went home with several nice gifts (passport holders, etc.) and great memories.

My DD2.5 was able to dance all by herself with Mickey & Minnie and it is so "exclusive". We felt like semi-royalty. We all know Disney doesn't do anything half-butted, so you can rest-assured it was a great time.

We took TONS of photos, had a wonderful "dessert buffet" and they handed out free Mickey ear Krispie treats....the $4 ones from the parks...for free!!!

We went home with tons of stuff, spent NOTHING, and made wonderful memories.

I did wish I had known how GOOD the deals are on the membership add-ons that they offer in advance. If I would have known ahead of time, we probably would have purchased additional points right then and there. But, we were strong, and resisted :cool1:

Just be aware that a lot of the times are full...

We attended the Rochester NY event. It was a blast. I would definitely recommend going.

Thanks for all the input! We will probably go, if my twisted ankle heals by then....
