DVC Christmas Tree Sharing?

I know it's still a ways off, but does anyone have any info on this? I was told about this and would like to be involved if possible. Thanks for any info!

Yep know its a while off but all my ADRs are made and now I ant to make sure we have a tree. WE will be at OKW 21 DEC - 27 DEC. I am looking to share the cost of a tree with someone that will be there before us.

I have been looking on Craiglist and have seen nice prelite trees for $40.00. I was thinking about buying one up here and shipping it down to OKW. Still dont know what I will do for decorations. Any suggestions?

I think it would be up to us how we handle it. Like I said I have been looking t craigslist and they have some $40 - $50 trees that already have lights. I was going to buy one and ship it down. I dont know what I was going to do about decorations..do you have any thoughts?

I guess we need to find one more family that will be at OKW the 16th - the 21.

I thought that some members already have them and they just share between other DVCers, including those who are renting pts. Or so I thought. We're goind Dec 2nd-7th.

I did not know if flks kept them from year to year. I remember reading a post last year complaining that people were not keeping them from year to year.

any information on this topic from people wo have done it would be welcomed!!

Bags - I participated in this last year at OKW and we had a week with no one using the tree. Bell services just held the tree until the next family arrived - no problem. I kept the tree and would ship it down for all to use if needed. Last year I believe it was wdstar(or wdwstar??) who organized the whole thing. Maybe you could do a search here and find it. Anyway, the tree I have is pre-lit and about 3 ft tall I think. It was great on the corner table in the living room. I also have evergreen garland with lights that we used out on the balcony. One used even donated a nativity set to be kept with it. It was great!!

We sent down one of the VWL trees last year, and it made the rounds and was returned to us. The box needs to be replaced, but the tree and ornaments did fine through the season.

We're planning to send a tree down again. We have been to WDW for 3 DVC Decembers and have enjoyed the Christmas tree exchange each year.

We enjoyed the bobbiwoz tree last Thanksgiving so much that we are going back this year! Hope to be on bobbi's list again. I forget the name of the kind DVC'er who diligently kept up all of the resort lists (multiple trees at most resorts). It truly added to the Christmas spirit.

I have the SSR tree from last year. We were the last family and since we drove, I had permission to bring it home with us. We will ship it down for this year, once the list is finalized.

Wdwstar and Laurabearz did a wonderful job last year and the trees were really a magical addition!

I believe wdwstar posted on another thread, that she will start the lists very soon.

I have 3 trees and such I sent down last year... We are not going this year, but I am more than willing to set it up again and send them down.
