DVC card + water ='s big mess!

Spent this past week at the Grand Californian on points- awesome hotel, had a great time (toy story midway mania is really cool!)

Anyways, headed off to the pool at one point, grabbed my ID, credit card, roomkey and DVC card. Figured I might need the DVC card incase we wanted to get something to eat or drink from the snack bar (10% discount).

SOOO, after being in the pool for a while we headed back to the room, when I took all the cards from my pocket I noticed that the DVC card was now in 3 pieces! DOH!

The top blue plastic part, the backside plastic and the paper/cardboard that held the 2 together!

It never occured to me that the card wasn't just like a regular credit card and would fall apart in the water, oh well. I was able to put it back together somewhat with the help of a glue stick from Pinnochio's Workshop, looks kinda like it should, member services is sending another one out in 4 to 6 weeks...

you may need to call MS again.

so time it if it doesn't arrive in 6 weeks - call them.

It generally takes 2 or 3 calls to get the darn thing - then guess what you get one of each phone call....

This happened to us our last vacation, with all the pools & waterparks. Considering the investment we've made in DVC (speaking on behalf of ours, as well as that of ALL members), they could really stand to make better quality cards. Heck, Disney makes better ones for the Pirates & Princess Party tickets!!

our dvc card is plastic,never had a problem in water with it,are they new cards as weve had ours since1999 and replaced after lossing them in 2002

Mine was new. I joined in January of this year, got the card the end of February. I just assumed it was similar to the key to the world cards or the christmas party cards- NOPE!

Maybe this is a good thing to email member services about??
