DVC Cancelling Reservations?

I'm borrowing from 2021 to book a trip later this year. I reserved 4 nights earlier in the week and I'm trying to complete the trip. I logged on to see this....does this mean if I have 171 points I can't use more than 85 points from my 2021 contract????

"Members who book a new reservation or multiple reservations online, borrowing more than 50 percent of their Vacation Points per contract, will have their reservation(s) exceeding the 50 percent maximum cancelled automatically within 7 days."

Yes, you are now eligible to only borrow 50% of your points. If you have already borrowed more than that, they won’t cancel your reservation,

However, they won’t let you continue to borrow if you have exceed that threshold.

Now, the system will let you borrow more, but it sounds like they are checking and will cancel reservations booked starting today that include more than that,

This would include modifying a reservation to add more borrowed points.

What if I have a reservation made with 38 borrowed points but I move it from October to November. Will that get cancelled since the points are already borrowed?

If you move that reservation, it will be subject to the 50% total rule for your contact because it is considered a new reservation,

So, as of today, you are only allowed a total of 50% borrowed from your contracts.

You are only allowed more than that if those points have already been borrowed, For example, if you had a 200 point contract, and have borrowed 38, you’d be limited, as of today, to borrow another 62.

However, if you already borrowed 150 of those 200, then you are set and they will not cancel, However, you won’t be able to borrow any more.

At least that is how I understand it. The only other exception is foe people who put in waitlists prior to today who authorized borrowing. They will let those waitlists fill even if it exceeds the 50% rule because they were in place before the new rule
