I am very new to this,DH and I are in the beginning phase of thinking about buying DVC(is looking very good;)) .My question is when are the busy times for DVC owners? I have seen where they are different than normal busy Disney times. Thank you in advance.

DVC is also busy when WDW in general is busy, but in addition to that you can expect quite a lot of booking in two other times that are somewhat unique to DVC:

- After Thanksgiving through Christmas. While these are relatively slow times for WDW in general, they are very hot weeks for DVC since the points are low and the holiday decorations are up.

- Food & Wine Festival in October/November. While this used to primarily affect BWV and BCV, it is becoming apparent that this is a generally busy time for DVC bookings. We are now hearing of difficulty booking at VWL and OKW during parts of this season as well.

Popular times in terms of DVC are when the F&W festival is on end of Sept - 11/12 Nov. 1st two weeks of December is also popular as teh points are so low but it's near Christmas so you still get the great atmosphere.

And the popularity of the Flower and Garden Festival is picking up a bit too, so the last week in April and early May see some DVC business, though you can certainly still find availabilility.

IMHO, it is becoming more and more difficult to book a non-home resort at 7 months. The DVC membership keeps growing and it seems that more members are learning how to "work the system" to get what they want.

That said, in general, the easiest times to reserve a DVC resort room is January - mid-February, May & September, excluding marathon weekend, MLK weeknd and Memorial week.
