Hi. We just got back from our 1st trip using DVC. We have been to Disney numerous times and usually stayed at all star resorts. We are rope drop people and are usually on the very 1st bus out of all star resorts. When we would do that there were always a good amount of people already in line when we got to the parks even though we got the 1st bus

Now on this most recent trip. Staying DVC resort we got on the 1st bus out and we were like the very 1st people at the park. The one day we were the very 1st group on slinky dog and the next day we were one of the 1st groups on flight of passage.

We were just thinking that it is a little deluxe resort “advantage” with the bus system running a little earlier for the rope drop crowd. Has anyone else noticed this?

I didn't find that to be true. The thirty minute early entry is for all resort guests, not just deluxe/dvc.
We were staying at the Boardwalk Villa's and the line for Mk was a bit long though I think many from the Swan and Dolphin walk over to use the buses.

All resorts can enter 1/2 hour earlier, from the Values to Deluxe.

I stand corrected, I thought that was a deluxe perk.

You were lucky. We were there in April and did RD every day. The buses to EPCOT, AK, HS were always packed. Only the boat to MK was crowded.

Interesting, I wonder what resort this was. There's always the rideshare option, if you really want to be first.

What resort?

I find different resorts have different experiences.

As an example Riviera is the best bus service IMO as its a small resort and doesn't share with another resort either. So it will be the least crowded typically.

I agree. I just got from riviera. The bus service was great. And I love the covered walkways every where. Of course skyliner is the best.

Well, that's one theory. Others who may be more cynical would theorize it is easier to sell points at a resort with great bus service.
We found RIV buses were so plentiful in 2020 that we would walk from BLT to MK then take the RIV bus to take the Skyliner to EPCOT...rather than wait in the hour long line for the bus at Contemporary

Actually, I was talking to a Disney bus driver once (seriously) and he told me that the OKW buses specifically are always the first buses out in the morning, as well as some of the other DVC buses. I remember him saying (he didn't know I was DVC) "I guess those DVCers really like to get to the parks early!"

We are just back from BLT… bus driver told us that early in the morning they do direct from resort to park service. They don’t stop at any other resorts. This is also what we experienced, no one was on the bus when we got on and they would go straight to parks.

Not experience at VGF stopped at Poly.

Also BLT shares busses with Contemporary so more total guests at the resort.

Was that for rope drop? In the afternoon BLT buses stopped at Wilderness Lodge.

Yup in the morning before park opening.

Who knows maybe they do some busses direct. I know BLT fluctuates.

In the end stand by Riviera as they never share. Only time of a possible share is Skyliner being down and even then they run dedicated busses.

I actually hate the bus experience at BWV. There's no queue or separation for destinations (unlike some other resorts), so everyone bunches up. There's no way to tell who got there first, who's been waiting the longest, where they're going. And if there are delays to MK, which there frequently are, it can get messy. Given that, I don't think there's any DVC bus benefit at all (but this is also my only gripe about our home resort, so I feel pretty strongly about it 😄 )

Were you a BWV owner when BW was the last stop after Swan, Dolphin, YC and BC? Things got really messy when one MK or AK bus passed us by because they were full! Having our own BW bus is SO much better!
