Does anyone actually read all these contracts? ;)

Looks like we are buying about 1/10 of a percent of AKV United 65A.

Estimated date unit is available for occupancy: May 1, 2009

Esimated Closing Date: June 24, 2008

Question: If we send the papers back sooner than they recommend, which is mid June, I believe, should it close sooner? I guess I could call my guide on that too.

Nevermind on my question. It looks like as long as you have the 10 percent down, you can book your developer points right away. :)

Have fun signing and anticipating all of your vacations! I read some of it...I know that there are some here who read and understood it all, but it wasn't me or DH...he didn't even try to read it, if truth be told.

Hey Barb! Congrats & Welcome Home!!! :grouphug: Are you guys planning on another F&W Fest trip this year? We are, but later in Oct., and we're gonna do PFTS again. :thumbsup2

Have fun signing those DVC papers!!! :dance3: (We just went through signing more DVC papers a couple of months ago for another add-on! LOL! It never stops! ;) )
Take care,

Hi Michelle. Hope you and your family are well.

I WISH we were going in October. The kids do have a five day weekend at the end of Oct, but if we are going in February, I don't want to pay for four flights and use points for a weekend stay. KWIM?

I've been playing around on JetBlue. We've got a rewards ticket coming to us, so just my husband and I could sneak away a couple nights next month for only $200 and stay in a studio at SSR, but I have guilt going down there without the kids again. LOL. I guess we could fib and tell them we are going down just to sign papers. ;)

I'm excited. Can you tell?

I've read through and signed two of the contracts so far.

What, doesn't everybody? :confused3

In witness whereof, heretofore had herein, whereas the first party of the second part...

I used to work in law, Lawyerese makes me slightly comatose. ;)

I'm just kidding. The language is actually pretty easy to follow.

I read the AKV stuff up to the point where they talk about no guarantee about there being animals in the savannah. That blew my mind and I began to worry. Then I decided that what I didn't know couldn't hurt me as much as worrying over animals...I wanted to own at AKV...so I went with that feeling.

Congrats and Welcome Home!
We read what we deemed the "important" papers, but we didn't read them all. :scared1: too many!!

While you may or may not read all the contract (I did), it is important that you do know what you are buying. Too often we see on these boards that someone was "told by the guide" that a particular perk or ownership aspect was guaranteed only to find out to their chagrin that indeed it was not. :sad2:

Bobbi's comment about no guarantee for animals at AKV is a good example.

It doesn't mean that Disney will exercise any of the powers it has in the contract...but it's a lot of money and you should be comfortable with what you are getting guaranteed for the money.

Thanks for all the congrats guys. :)

I agree that it is very important to know what you are buying. I think that if you were going to read only one of the contracts, the Product Understand Acknowledgement would be the most beneficial.

I wouldn't worry too much about the animals being taken away. When it comes to contracts, CYA is the motto.
