DVC benefits-pool hopping, kids clubs?

I know you can pool hop at certain pools--but has anyone ever been denied? We would be going at peak times, Easter, Summer, etc. Also, do you have to be staying on property, or can you be in the area at an off-site place, family, etc. Also, can you go to Community Centers where they do kids crafts, etc. at other DVC? and lastly, can you go to your home Community Center, if you are not staying onsite--we have family in the area and visit 1-2X a year when we are not staying onsite at Disney.

If it is during peak seasons and the pools are crowded they can deny access. Some pools 'Storm Along Bay' are not included in pool hopping. I'm not sure if you are staying off site if you are allowed to use the pools/community centers even though you are a member. Usually at the community centers you need to show your key card. I believe all the things you mentioned are perks for members but you need to be staying on site. Hope this helps.

Pool Hopping is a DVC Member benefit for those members registered at a DVC Resort. YOu must show your KTTW and also your Blue Member ID card. There are blackout periods for pool hopping, which are listed on the member website. No pool hopping is allowed during those times, which typically are around holiday weeks.

You can only partake of the resort benefits if you are a DVC registered guest/member.

There are a few DVC perks/benefits that all members are entitled to at any time. These include purchasing the AP/PAP for the DVC member price for family members who live at the same address as the member, dining and shopping discounts, valet parking at DVC resorts (however, recently a member was told different). Like CarolAnn stated, pool hopping is not one of these. You must be a member, staying on points at a DVC resort during a non-blacked out period in order to pool hop. And there is never any pool hopping permitted to AKL, YC or BC (including BCV) pools. Use of the Community Hall depends on your stay at that resort.
