DVC Beach Club or Boardwalk?

I vote Beach Club, it seems to be the hardest to book and the pool is amazing. Plus the location to EPCOT make it a favorite of ours.

Although a lot of people think that a reason to own at BCV is that it is hardest to book, I think the opposite. What if you can't always plan a vacation 11 months ahead of time? Would you get shut out of your home resort at BCV at 10 or 9 months out? Anyone have any experience with getting shut out at BCV at the 9 or 10 month mark?

BC -- SAB pool, only 1 booking cat, (easy to get BW at 7 months, except stand room, if you prefer BW 1 yr), Sand Castle Club, Capt Grill, Cape Mae, everything is compact, and parking is close. The food choices are WOW.


Neg no grand villas, sometimes rooms fill up even before 7 month window opens as it is one of the smallest resorts. Price it is more per night, and more per point.

BW cheaper points with standard rooms ..(almost always full by 7 month window.) Cheaper price resale by about 20$ a point. They have more than 2 bed rooms if you invite fam for a GV. THE VIEWS, lights, court yard somehow are breath taking compared to BC. I know it is next door, but some how it is just better.

The hallways are long, and the pool is kind-a boring, (but I bet they re-do this some day sooner after doing SSR Pad it has to be next.) PARKING IS TERRIBLE. If you need something from your car, it is a long haul. On the DP or DDP, there is nearly as much as BC. If/when you have a car, you may regret this resort.

I think it depends. Its easier to get a preferred view room at BWV than a room at BCV. But its easier to get a room at BCV than it is to get a Boardwalk or Standard View room at BWV. So if what is appealing to you about the Boardwalk is the ability to choose your views - its a good idea to own. And $20 less per point and being able to stay for a lot less points in a standard view makes BWV a great value - if you are considering those two resorts only because of proximity to Epcot.
