I just got off the phone with my Vacation Club Guide. DVC is not yet approved to sell VWL in New York State. The guide said it may be 2-3 months before they gat approved and that sales are moving quickly. I hope I don't get shut out.
:( :(

That's why we bought while we were there in December. They were going to sent everything to our home, but when they double checked they could not do it. It was late in the day, but they stayed late with us and we did it all in one sitting. The only thing we had to do at home was send the cancelled check for auto withdrawal. :D

HI,

Just toured HH resort and heard the same about VWL and NY. Also, told me April. While I was there, the guide received a fax that they just added Ct. If I could convince my dh, I'd just use my parents name and address in CT.

Good Luck!

Pooh,

You could always drive to Disney's Hilton Head Resort and buy VWL while there on site. Also could buy Hilton Head points or Vero Beach points while there. Your state doesn't have to be approved if you buy while on site.

Do the deal in a neighboring state that is approved. I've read here that people have done that.....spruce

The price isn't going up--the Villas won't sell out till the holidays--you will be FINE to just wait!

The only thing that would bug me is not being able to say I'm a member yet, but other than that...

THAT IS, of course, as long as it won't affect a trip you've been plannng...

even if the price goes up, they should give you the lower price because you could not buy before. They used to do this, I don't know what the current price is. But make sure the guide you have is good, mind called me as soon as Ala was approved.

I will be banking my firts points so my only concern is that VWL will sell out soon. I believe there are only 136 units in the VWL and that sales are very brisk.

Is there ANY chance that VWL will sell out in the next 2 months?

How can I purchase through another state (sister lives in NJ)?

My guide told us we could buy from CT, by putting the name and address of my parents on everything! All paperwork would go to CT.

Then we could take their name off later. Would only recommend with someone that you trust!!
Don't want anyone to steal your Mickey time :D

One incentive to buy now...they are selling Sept 2000 use year, which means no maitenance on those points as they bill maitenance in Jan of each year.

You will pay maintenance (dues) starting with the day you put down your deposit, pro-rated for the rest of 2001. For example, today is day 57 of 2001, so there are 308 days left, you would pay 308/365 or .8438 of the yearly dues. You can pay it in a lump sump or in monthly direct withdrawls.
Dues are on a calendar year, regardless of use year.
