DVC at the Post Office

My parents are going to AKV with us in May. For fun I mailed them our itnerary, self made F&G luggage tags and each a t-shirt. I dropped it off at the local post office today and the following conversation occurred. It was brief but fun and there are Disney fans everywhere....

John (postal worker): Noticing the cool Disney font I used on the label he says, " Hey I love the Disney font you used, Cool!"
Me: "Yep, of course, its the coolest one out there"
John: "We love WDW and go there all the time"
Me: "We do too"
John: "In fact we own a timeshare on property called DVC"
Me: " We do too"
John: "What's your home?"
Me: "AKV"
John: "That's very nice, we own at BLT"
Me: " We stayed there Halloween Night a couple of years ago and had a wonderful time"
John: " I love WDW"
Me: "Me too and I could talk to you about it til I'm blue in the face"
John: " Me too, Have a great day"

I swear just in those few seconds he and I could have had a nice hour long conversation like we had known each other for years. It was a bright spot in my day. Thanks John!

I don't get much dvc recognition around my area. There is some awareness that disney operates a timeshare, but that is pretty much the extent of it. One time a grocery store clerk laughed at my dvc shirt, like it was some kind of a joke.

That was so nice! I've met a fellow DVCer when I was pumping gas on my way to work once.

We got a "DVC discount" at the local farm stand last fall! The lady rounded down because she didn't want to break a ten dollar bill. She owns at AKL!

Yea down here (South Carolina) people love to comment on my Disney wardrobe and tell me how much they enjoy WDW - especially Harry Potter !?!

I was at a casino here in Michigan. Started talking to a women behind me(while waiting for slot tournament) about the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. She said how often do you go the Hard Rock. I said at least once while I am at Disney. She said I love Disney. They had just taken their Grandchildren. I told her I owned DVC. The young man in front of me heard this and said wow my parents own at OKW and had for as long as he could remember they all go every year. I said I own at BWV. We then had a 3 way conversation about all the DVC's we had stayed at. It was a fun conversation while we waited in line for the slot tournament.
