DVC AP's vs. MYWP and other ticket ???

Okay AP with water parks added for DVC members are 462.21 per person. Reg. AP's are 355.71. Okay if I just get the AP for the water parks/Disney Quest then each AP per person is 137.39 and for my youngest son is 105.44. The difference between reg. AP and Premium is 106.50 which covers the water parks and Disney Quest. Youngest son's cost for AP’s are 313.11 for regular and 406.83 for premium. So……………..we could add another 1600 in reality and just get the AP premium price instead. We will be going to water parks/DQ for our trip in Aug. The grand total for a AP Premium for all of us is……2255.67 YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Okay NOW STAY WITH ME....... we still have 7 days left on MYWP too. We were planning on using just 2 of these days in Aug. and then the other 5 days in Jan. Say we decide to not do the PARK AP's and go with another 10 day MYWP no exp. hopper added......next year when we go back for our longer summer trip...using Shades of Green discount for these MYWP.... I would spend…….1867 for 10 days. IF we added the water parks ( say to use next year in Aug) …then the price would be 2112 for the 5 of us. BUT.....we would still be spending that 655 this Aug. on AP's good for a year or at the very least we would be spending 477 total for all of us to go to Typhoon Lagoon, BLizzard Beach and DQ one time each....using SOG discounted one day tickets for each. SOOOOOOOOOOO do we buy the AP's before this trip and save the 7 day no exp. tickets???? I want to look at this from all possible angles to get the best deal..

Wow! It's typical that my first post would be one in response to a math/logic question.

These are the options I pieced together from your post:

1) $2255.67 on AP Premiums and save the 7 day passes for next year.
2) $2112.50 on 10 day Park Hoppers with Water Parks.
3) $655 for the AP on just the water parks and DQ to use with your current MYWPs (but then, you'd need more tickets or an AP for January's trip).
4) $477 total single entry for whole family at each of the water parks & DQ (and... more tickets or AP in January).

Ok... I am working under the assumption that your trip this August will be for 10 days, but how about this as an option:

- Use the 2 days MYWP this August (as you mentioned).
- Buy expiring MYWP Park Hoppers w/ Water Parks for the remaining days (8 day MYWP tickets are listed as $1419.00 on disney.com or $1362.00 on shadesofgreen.org).
- Save the last 5 days of your current MYWPs for your trip in January.

Then, buy your AP Premiums just before the longer summer trip next year so you can get the most out of them (i.e., squeeze a couple/few more trips out of them). At least... Based on what I've pieced together, I think that's what I'd do.

I thought my thread would just DIE OFF. It is sort of a scary one to read. You know what??? I have decided to do this. STOP STRESSING ABOUT MY FIRST DVC TRIP THIS AUG. I have my ressies for SSR and BWV and our airfare. The rest is just the icing on the cake. I decided TODAY....to see how we like going in Aug. FIRST.....then decide about the AP's after that. So my new plan is THIS: Buy the AP water/DQ passes for this Aug. trip because we will get more use out of those than purchasing the SOG 33 buck single entry tickets to the water parks and DQ. We will use our current MYWP for whatever park days we end up doing. I say we plan on doing JUST EC...but who knows. If the parks aren't bad crowd wise we might throw in a day or two more. I won't know til then. SO at least we have the 7 days available. Our trip is for 9 total nights. We arrive morning of the 15th and leave early evening of the 24th so between pool time at the two resorts, DTD, water parks we will still have time for the regular parks if we want. This past Jan. we didn't use our 7 day left over MYWP. Instead we bought 5 day MYW park hoppers (no water parks) with no exp. and just used those. We can do that again in Jan. if we need to...depending on how many days we use this Aug. Then if we think Aug. will be our new travel month....we can decide about the AP's then. TA DA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
