DVC AP renewal question

What is the discount for renewal? Is it $100 like buying a new one? I ask because I got the renewal notice for my AP today (it expires in Feb.) and it says I can save $145! I don't remember the renewal discount being that much, but maybe my memory is going . That's a good deal any way you cut it, but I'm curious--if I'm correct might it be a better deal than normal because of the economy?

Yep. The renewal notice is a little misleading IMHO, still a better deal than not having the DVC discount but not as good as it first appears

So the discount on the renewal is greater than the discount for buying new? See I would have expected the opposite, or at least for them to be roughly equal. But it is still a good deal and one worth considering. I need to decide if I'm going to go down for a trip of my own again in Jan. 2010--if so I'll definitely renew
