DVC AP Renewal Policy?

I just renewed my AP through MS last week. Do you think I'll be eligible for the extra days?

Outstanding! I am so happy to hear this!!! :thumbsup2 It will work out great for us! :goodvibes

When did your AP expire... August 2 or later? Did you get a voucher to turn in the next time you're at WDW to get your renewed AP? If so, you should get the 15 months.

I called MS Sunday 8/2 to see if I could get the 15 months...I renewed our DVC APs that expire in November on 7/22 (trying to beat the price increase)...

The CM I talked to said they'd heard nothing about a 15-month renewal; she put me on hold to check w/her supervisor(s)...when she came back she said no one at MS knew anything about it, and that I should check back in a few days--BUT, she said since I'd already bought my renewals I probably wouldn't get the 15 months even if the "rumor" about the program turned out to be true.

She asked me where I'd heard about it and I told her here on DIS Boards...she recognized the DIS and agreed when I told her that rumors here tend to turn out to be true...

So, I'll try calling again in a couple of days. I'd rather pay the new price and get 15 months, if that turns out to be possible...it'll work well for my particular family circumstances...but I guess we'll see...

You just got a voucher to renew your pass in November, right? If so, that voucher is good for the 15 months when you trade it in to get the actual renewed AP.

Anyone with a crystal ball care to venture how likely Disney is to make this change permenant? (our APs expire in July -- I'm thinking ~long~ term planning here - fall 2011 ;)

Hmmm... decisions, decisions. My plan has been to let our passes expire and then buy new passes at the beginning of our next trip, which we would probably use for one more trip after that. That's what we did this year: two 10-day trips in one 365-day period. So I'd be paying the premiums for a new AP each time, but I'd be sure to get two vacations out of the AP period.

Now with the 15-month bonus, I wonder if that combined with the renewal discount should be enough to get us to renew, even if we only get 1 extended trip in the next 15 months.

The actual savings are dubious, but we'd break even at not much more than 7 days, and we'd retain AP discount options. And if I knew they were going to issue another batch of referral cards, it would be a no-brainer! Hmmm... :surfweb:

I'm glad they're allowing us to renew with the 3-month extension!

Now, I just have to hope they continue that policy through at least October of this year, when I'll be within 30 days...

My pass expired mid July and I received a "Will call" number from MS. I'll assume I don't qualify. :sad2:

I spoke to member services today, and was informed that DVC AP Renewals will be good for 15 months woot! You can either renew your DVC AP on the phone with member services or go to guest relations at one of the four theme parks. :woohoo:

That's good news!

But as for going to Guest Relations...I've had a bad experience with getting DVC discounts through them. Last year, I was told that I couldn't get the DVC discount on TiW through them. I would have to call MS and get it delivered Will Call. So I don't trust them.

Your expiration date has to be 8/2 or after. At least you got the old price.

That's what I thought. Oh well; like you said...I got the old price. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info!

There is no DVC discount on TIW, just an annual pass discount. TIW has nothing to do with DVC, you have to be an annual passholder or FL Resident.

I must have been confused then. I know you need an AP in order to get TiW, I had just been under the impression that DVC got you a discount on it (like the many other discounts you get by being a DVC member). But as I look back at my notes from last year, I have nothing about that. So I must be misremembering what happened!

Anyone else have success renewing their DVC discounted AP and getting the 3 month extension?

Has anyone been turned down when attempting to do that?

Unfortunately, you're misremembering. I wish there were a DVC discount on TIW. :) But it's just the DVC discount on the AP that earns you the ability to buy TIW.

Our passes expire 7/1/10....We are going back 7/6/10....Would love the extension instead of renewing...I am jumping in this thread for updated information ;)
