DVC AP Questions

I am researching our 1st DVC trip and have a few questions so I am coming to the experts!

With the purchase of the AP are we able to park hop or can we only go to one park per day?

I know we get a discount on AP as DVC members, do we also get a discount at H20 parks?

I think I read on the DIS that we can purchase the AP's anytime and then activiate them before our trip which starts the 365 day countdown. Is this accurate? Also read that we may pay a fee for an extension on AP's if our next trip is after the 365 days. What is that fee?

Thanks for all of the help:goodvibes

Annual passes are hoppers.

There is some kind of discount on a water park ticket (one day ticket) for either AP or DVC members - it's a $4 discount.

Yes, you can order a voucher ahead of time. But there's not really a reason to unless you know prices are going up. You will have to trade in that voucher at the parks for your AP (this is "activating" - you do it at the park when you arrive, not before) and it will take the same amount of time to do either. There is no fee as you are describing because AP vouchers do not expire. You could keep it indefinitely before exchanging it for the actual AP at the park. Your AP will start on the day you exchange it and run for a year.

If you mean can you pay to extend your AP beyond 365 days -no, you cannot do that.

Yes, you can park hop on APs. You can pre-purchase APs by calling MS or using the member website. Unless you pay a processing fee for an exchange voucher (plastic card), you will only get a confirmation number. You take either that confirmation number or exchange voucher to any guest relations to exchange for the actual AP. When your AP is about to expire, you can renew for another year. The renewal rate is currently about $45 less than the price of a new AP.

For the water parks & DisneyQuest, members get $4 off adult (ages 10+) tickets and $3 of children (ages 3-9) tickets.

Or you can get premium annual passes (a bit more than annual passes - okay, more than a bit more) that include unlimited water parks and unlimited Disney Quest. Plus golfing (if you are into golfing).

I read on another thread that you can now purchase your AP at the resort. Would this omit the need to stop at a ticket counter at a park to "activate" it?

I have another DVC AP question; ours (our first AP) will expire in September. Will I be able to renew it for 15 months or was that a one-time thing?
