DVC / Annual Passes / Magic Bands

Here goes. We just booked a quick trip to Disney to satisfy our withdrawal problems. Our last trip in March was a quickie to buy dvc and when we arrived we got generic grey magic bands. Now were dvc members and new ap holders. Will we get new magic bands we can customize? And will they be shipped before our May trip?

If you've linked your annual passes to MDE, you can go online right now and customize TWO sets. One for your annual passes and another for your upcoming stay.

Bands are totally interchangeable; you can use those from prior trips on new trips as long as you don't manually deactivate them on the app. So certainly go online right now and customize all your upcoming bands!

They will ship out the annual pass ones right away, and ship those from the other trip about a month out from arrival. So don't delay the process, or you will just get an extra set of gray on arrival.

Is your May reservation linked to MDE? If it is, there should be an open order for MagicBands for the reservation.

If you've linked your active APs to MDE, there should also be an open order for MagicBands for having the Passholder Affiliation on your profile.

For both of these orders, you need to confirm your shipping address (US addresses only) and select your colors.

Thats what it was. I had to link everything to MDE and it all showed up. Thank you!!

How do you link your annual passes to MDE? Is this something I should have done? Our next trip isn't for almost 6 months, but I thought I understood that AP holders would get MBs "just in case", that is whether they had a trip planned or not.

Well for us, I just inputted my confirmation number for our AP's into mde under the "link tickets" tab on our vacation reservation.

What if you have the will call number from DVC? We will not get the actual PAP until December. Can we still get the MBs for the annual pass prior to December or just our trip ones?

You can't order the MagicBands for having the Passholder Affiliation until you have the active passes in hand.

There is nothing unique about the actual MagicBands issued to Annual Passholders. They work exactly the same as the ones issued for a Resort Stay and all can be used interchangeably. The Passholder packaging is different and includes a Discount Card and Annual Passholder Slider.
