DVC Annual passes for extended family

If you do, just make sure you bank your current points by the banking deadline. And if you're talking about a cabin, you will also need to borrow points into the current UY.

Thank you, not sure if she knows to do that yet. By lake I meant CCV or BLT, not cabin.

150 and August. I spoke to her again and CCV was offering more incentives, less down up front, bonus points. So right now she has 150, UY August she will get 150 more. We sorted it out. We plan to go in Sept and then again in Dec, and then do a Hilton Head or Hawaii trip the year after, because not going near SWL until 2021. And my husband and I saw the WL, she did not, they toured at SS lol. I am fine with that as it's a MK resort. It will be tough to stay anywhere else. She does not want to have to re-write the contract because the interest rate could go up depending on my credit.

You are SO right about how they market though. She even said "You left Grandma and I alone and we wandered" WOW. They saw her coming. As long as she can afford it... We could, but I don't need to add another expense, especially since hubs only gets 3 weeks of vacation a year. Maybe in a few years when it ups to 5 lol. I am totally happy renting points if needed.

One more thing as I don't believe it's been mentioned and because it sounds like DVC hasn't really been on the radar before but it's possible to buy resale at any resort you wish and then do a 25 points add on direct and get the member benefits. And resale prices for most resorts are lower than direct CCV points. You could start smaller so less to finance or just have less to finance overall because the total purchase price could be less.

As direct prices have risen dramatically it's a purchase strategy that many are taking now.

If your mom decides to keep it and add you to the deed, there are numerous threads about how to do it yourself. DVC will refer you to a title company that will do it for hundreds of dollars. We just did it for $40.70 plus the cost of stamps. We started the process Dec 13 I believe, and according to member services we should be done by Jan 31 - much shorter than the 3-5 months our guide told us the title company would take.
