I was wondering if anyone knows if you can buy the DVC annual pass off of the member's website and not activate it for almost two years?? We bought the annual passes this year as we were lucky enough to go 4 times this year. Looking at the long term I don't think we will go back until July 2012. Can I slowly buy the annual passes over the next two years and not activate them until July 2012. I thought if that was allowed I could possibly avoid a price hike and also spreading out 3 annual passes over two years won't be as hard of a hit to the wallet. If you can do this, can someone tell me the in's and out's of how I would go about doing this? Thanks in advance!

Don't know if this would be considered an official source but I recall DVCNews.com reporting quite a while back that the pass voucher (which you can buy either on-line or over phone and it is sent to you) has no expiration date and can be exchanged for an annual pass even after years as long as the annual pass program still exists when you go to make the exchange.

I'm not sure the deal if you buy them new but if you are renewing then they start the day after your current pass expires. I just renewed in Feb and got 3 months extra. I'm buying my kids then this summer since we are also going in feb. Cheaper then individual tickets.

Yes, we do this all the time. We buy vouchers before prices go up, and then don't ativate them for a year or two. The APs we are currently using (activated them in March) were purchased in 2008.

Yep, I just activated voucher bought in 2006 last week :)

do I need to call member services for the voucher or can it be done on the web site??

We purchase ours via a phone call to member services. They then send us an email confirmation with the voucher attached for us to print when we're ready to us it.

I think for new vouchers you can do it online. For renewals you might still have to call it in. It's been awhile since I bought new vouchers since the last time I went crazy and piled up for the next 4 years or so... :lmao:

Either. If you want to get access to the passholder website, you will need to pay a shipping fee to have exchange vouchers mailed to you. Otherwise you will just get a confirmation number.
