DVC Annual pass purchase question?

Good morning..can someone confirm this for me? I just called DVC to purchase a NEW DVC Annual Pass, and was told that since I have an annual pass that just expired couple days ago (still within the 30 days eligibility for renewal), I am only allowed to renew my Annual Pass, and I cannot purchase a new Annual pass until 30 days pass my anniversary date. I was hoping to take advantage of the rate before the price increase tomorrow. I would rather not renew, even with the extra 3 months that they are offering since we won't be going until the end of the year, and then hope to make another trip in March and over Thanksgiving break.

Thanks!

Maybe go thru undercovertourist.com. But you may have to buy before 2:00 Pm today since after 2:00 PM it reflects tomorrows purchase.

I didn't see any annual passes for sale at undercovertourist.com..they sell MYW tickets..and I don't believe they would be able to give me the DVC discounts? Thanks!

You may be able to do it on the DVC Members web site since I don’t believe it knows you have an existing AP.

Exactly right: go through the member web site (in the member perks section) which will direct you to the online disney ticketing site with DVC pricing for both new passes and renewals.

Enchantedprincess, how did you purchase a new DVC AP? I tried going through the DVC member site using the same method gkrykewy mentioned above and it still only gave me the option of the renewal price of $419 for my Non DVC AP Premium instead of the new DVC Premium AP purchase price of $409.

Sorry I didn't response earlier - I had to leave for a doctor's appointment. I went to the DVC Member site, and click on Members Privileges and then Member Perks, and click on Walt Disney World Resort and then there is a link to Annual Pass Savings and the WDW Ticket Store and it gave me the option to purchase either the DVC Annual Pass or the DVC Premium Annual pass. I hope you can get it to work!

I know the issue is resolved, but did no one else think this is a crazy comment? Why would they only let you renew vs. buy a new one? In all the crazy responses I've heard people get about APs and renewals, I have never heard this. Disney pretty much wants all the $$ they can get out of you, so why would they care if you were buying a new pass vs. renewing?

I can only see new purchases as well when I go through the DVC link to the ticket store. I do see the DVC discount, but not for renewals.

Why didn't you renew your old ap at the DVC renewal rate?

When I called Member Services, they told me I couldn't. :confused3 I also tried going through the website, but I'm trying to buy a DL dvc ap and it just takes me to the Disneyland page listing the APs at the non dvc rates. So, I just renewed my AP online without the DVC discount.

I didn't realize that it was for DL. I know their passes are different than WDW, but don't know why! :goodvibes
