DVC members get free Wi-Fi at resorts - what about on cruises?

WiFi is billed by the minutes used, or you can buy a package, the only people who get free WiFi are those who are in the royal suites.

There has been a recent change in the way that internet is billed. You no longer pay by the minute but you now pay by the amount of data downloaded. This means you are no longer being charged to "read" your email.

you can log on to the internet anywhere on the ship.

So I can download the Disney Cruise Navigator app for free but I can't actually use it on the ship for free? The instructions say to put your phone in airplane mode and then log onto the cruise WiFi. But the WiFi charges you? That seems shady to me.

my understanfding is that you can do that app without any fees but nothing else

You are not charged for using internet on the app.

For navigator app, DCL-Guest will be used to connect WIFI, it must be free. But it does not go out beyond internal network of ships. DCL-Guest is only for navigator access. To access to internet, the device must be connected to different WIFI network, and it will cost. That's my understanding
