DVC and Free dining

Hi. I am more of a lurker than a poster. I LOVE all the info I can get here on the board...I have a question !

I just heard from a friend that If I pay for the 1st night of my trip during the free dining and use points the rest of my stay I can get the free dining my whole stay...does anyone know if this is true or not?

not true.

"free" dining is a promotion that requires payment of full rack rates at disney hotels during slow periods of the year. DVC points stays are already discounted.

in other words, no "free" dining on points. ever.

The only way to get free dining and stay in a DVC resort is to pay cash through CRO and purchase a package deal - room at rack rate or near to it and tickets included.

The dining plan (free or not) is always tied to a resort reservation. The number of credits you're given depends on the number of night in your resevation. When that reservation ends, any dining credits associated with it are gone.

So, if you made a one-night reservation for free dining, you'd get only one set of dining credits, and they would disappear at midnight of the day you checked out of that one-day reservation.
