I will be visiting OKW solo in March and am looking forward to time just to read a book and be lazy. I do have a question regarding how to handle dining reservations. I made one of my dining reservations for two hoping that my local cousin will join me but what if she cannot and I end up being a single diner? Will I be charged $10 for her being a no-show?

Thanks,
Kate

As long as one person shows up for the ADR, you will not be charged.

I ran into a similar problem recently. Had a couple family members get sick and couldn't make the dinner. I walked up to the hostess about an hour before the reservation and reduced it with no charge. If you're worried, call and reduce it ahead of time.

As noted, as long as 1 person shows up there is no charge, even if there reservation were for a large party. There was a FAQ on this very subject on this very topic up until they changed the site a couple of years ago. We routinely have to reserve larger parties because we often don't know if there will be 2, 8 or in between for a given trip or meal. Once we know more we try to change to smaller parties for the reservations but we're not willing to give up a desired reservation just to accommodate this issue.

Thank you all. I went back and forth on rather to reserve for one or two, which would be easier to change later. Hopefully, cuz will show and all will be as planned.

Stay warm. It is 11 degrees here in mid-Michigan.

Glad to hear these answers. I'm going solo next week and also wondered about this. In the past, I always made ADRs for two when I was solo. Who knows? Maybe I'd run into someone I knew just before my ADR and wanted to be able to have them join me. Also, there's a glitch in some restaurants when booking ADRs-I've found no availability for singles, but some for twos. But this was all pre-penalty. Wanted to make sure I could still book for two now.
