DVC and Concierge (it's not the same question)!

I have a great question (then again I think all of my questions are great) about Concierge Levels and DVC...

...after my first stay at AKV CL this past July I was instantly in love with the amenities and all it had to offer...

...do we know why none of the new resorts don't offer CL? Was AKV a special deal or something? Do you think DVC will offer CL at any of its future resorts?

The ONLY reason AKV Jambo has the concierge lounge is because it existed before the rooms were converted to DVC rooms. The lounge belonged to the AKL and guests could book concierge rooms. Now, I believe the only rooms that have access to the concierge lounge/service are the very few DVC rooms.

I don't think you'll see this happening at the other resorts. There aren't a whole lot of DVC people that I know of that want it or to have to pay for it--because somehow in the end maintenance fees would in all likelyhood end up covering part or all of the services.

There still are some hotel rooms at AKL that are concierge level. I believe that they are now on the 4th floor.

What the other posters said about AKL concierge is correct. It used to be on the 5th and 6th floors at AKL with the lounge on the 6th floor. When rooms were converted on the 5th floor to DVC villas, they also converted the few rooms on the 6th floor to DVC villas. Since you can't have non-concierge rooms on a concierge floor, they had to be concierge rooms. There are three savanna view two bedroom lockoffs and two pool view two bedroom lockoffs on the 6th floor. At least one is handicap accessible.

And, unless the same situation happens where rooms on the concierge floor are converted to DVC villas, I doubt if this will happen again.
