If you are staying DVC - you ARE still able to use bell services - right???

I was just reading through someones TR - they stayed at BCV - and they made a statement that has me wondering..............

They said " we were four able bodied people, so in 2 1/2 trips we had all our luggage and things up to the room" ---- ???????????????? :scared1:

Is there no bell service at BCV?

Please tell me that while staying DVC you do indeed still have bell services available to you!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Yes, there is bell services at all WDW DVC resorts (even the condo-style SSR and OKW)

Personally, I just do not see the value in tipping per bag to do something I can fairly easily do, so I choose to not use bell services.

If you travel like us, or shall I say my better half who firmly believes that any one day of travel requires at least four changes of clothes and that "you just never know when you might need a winter coat in WDW in June," you consider bell services both a necessity and a blessing. They are freely availalble at all the resorts but don't forget to tip.

I agree, we rarely use bell services.

If you self park at BCV, the self parking lot is close to the villas. So it is easy to bring your own stuff to your villa. If you arrive by cab or shuttle or valet park, you will arrive at the BC where the valets and bell services are located. So you will want to use Bell Services (unless you just have a few wheeled bags and can take them yourself).

BWV, AKV-JH, VWL - the parking lot is far from the villas.

Thanks for the replies. I know all the deluxe or dvc resort "have" bell services - I've used them!!! I just didn't know based on the other PP post what the deal was for DVC members. I guess it was a pretty silly question............ but, I'm brand new with DVC - so, bear with me!!!
:flower3:

Deb, Thanks, that makes sense as for the parking situation at BCV.

We travel the same way, and always use the bell services. Our first DVC trip is next month, and expect to have a few bags that only contain food. We are driving to VGC, so it's easy to bring food from home. Bell service at the Grand Californian can be slow, since the hotel has added 200 rooms and the DVC without increasing bell staff -- according to the bellman that took 30 minutes to deliver our bags.

How much do you tip?
I usually do $1 a bag, but tip both pickup and delivery. I don't know if the tips are pooled.

That's us too, but the more times we haul our Owner's Locker back to the bell station, the more I think maybe we're about getting to the point of needing to use the bell services!

We drive and take a LOT of stuff with us, so bell service is a must.

When we have our own car, we are usually not in good shape to unload the car when we arrive, so we check in with a light load of luggage then I go back to the car to clean it up and bring in the rest.

When it's time to leave, It depends on the time of day. If it's really early and we don't want to add 1/2 hour to allow for bell services then we take it ourselves. If there is time then we send it up, have breakfast, then pull up the car.
