I'm not sure if I read somewhere here that DVC does or does not get an extra few days ahead of the 180 days. Am I making this up or did I actually read it somewhere?

We are 181 days away from the FIRST day of our trip. My wife said she called today with our reservation # trying to make Royal table breakfast reservation. They told her to call again tomorrow. We want to Royal table a few days into the trip, I believe our 3rd day. My wife thought today was 180 days.

So my question is, as DVC members with a hotel reservation, we are able to book ADR's for our trip 180 days out from the FIRST day of the trip, not 180 days out from the day of the dining reservation correct?

And is this any different from the standard policy with any WDW hotel guest with a reservation already?

It's the same 180 + 10 policy. You can make dining reservations 180 days from the start of your stay for up to 10 days.

Unfortunately for DVC members using online dining, the "+ 10" feature does not work, so you'll have to call Disney Dining or MS to make your + 10 reservations.

I was able to book that way last Nov as a dvc member using my points but I had also paid for the ddp

so if you can book 180days+10 could i book a room for a single day 10 days from the date I want a specific ADR, book the ADR and then cancel the single day? all in this process, i still have my week i am actually going booked?

This won't work as they will see that the date falls outside of your hotel stay.

The rule is that you can book "up to" 10 days - but it is based on the length of your resort stay. So for a one night reservation, you should only be able to book 2 days (check-in and check-out days) of ADRs.

Sorry should have quoted bwang's post, not mousemom's post!

Thanks guys. That is what I thought, but my wife and I got in an argument about it. I messed up, so now I have to apologize :furious:

I feel like we lucked out with getting a Royal table reservation 2 years ago, and we feel like my 6.5 year old is beginning to grow out of the princesses (the normal ones don't do it for her, as Mulan is her favorite now), this may be our last "princess" trip. So we really want breakfast. Just hoping to get this reservation. Any of the others I really could care less. I'd be fine with a hot dog the rest of the trip.

You should be fine. I had to call to make my ADRs since the online wouldn't accept my DVC confirmation number and I had my pick of pre-opening CRT ADRs.

Got my reservation and the exact time I wanted......Online. I was prepared to call using my cell phone on the way in to work, as I hit the road at 7. Didn't need to. Online system worked great. Thanks everyone!

nope, just tried it. booked one day 10days out from my reservation and was able to make ADRs the entire 10days even though for the 9days in between i was not booked at a resort.

booked HHI for Dec 7th (180days from today), my other reservation starts Dec 15th. could make ADRs throughout that entire gap.

I can only speak to my own experiences. Once, with a split stay (1 night + additional nights elsewhere) it wouldn't let me book 10 days based on the one night check in date. Another time, prior to that, I had no problem booking everything based on the one night. So it seems to be variable, like most things @ Disney.
