DVC and a Cruise

I hope I am putting this in the right spot. I am more comfy on the DVC forum...anywho...If DH and I decide to do a cruise, we would book our DVC stay and then the cruise separate, right? I would go through MS obviously for the DVC nights at AKV or where ever. I know we would not want to use our points for the cruise. So the cruise reservation would be reserved by DCL right? How do we do this? TIA.

We used AAA to book our upcoming cruise which follows our DVC stay. I attended a "Disney Specialist Seminar" hosted by TAs who were experienced with Disney travel.

They were able to select a specific cabin based on our preferences and arranged transportation to the port from BLT (Disney), and from the port to the airport (car rental). We also received onboard credit, etc. This is our first cruise so I felt like I needed some assistance with booking.

It was nice to talk with someone who was familiar with the product and enthusiastic about Disney.

One of the DIS sponsors is Dreams Unlimited travel agency. We are using them for our 7 night eastern in December and booked Alaska 2011 through them. In both cases, we got $200 OBC from them for booking. Hope that helps!
