Just wondering....are there any special perks for having "DVC member" embossed on your Disney credit card? I remember when this was being offered, but really didn't want a credit card so I didn't read any further. Now we would like to have a Dsiney credit card, but wondering if you have this embossed (is it still available??) do you get different perks? OR are all Disney perks of the VISA card offered to everyone (meaning notohing different for DVC???) If that is the case, I will just apply for the regualr card.....if it isn't the case, I will research more to try to find out how to get that embossed. Does this make any sense.....or am I just rambling? LOL!!!!
ALSO....if you are doing an add on.....can you use the card for that payment? Do you get reward points from the purchase??

You can still have it embossed.

No, there are no extra perks. There are many reports of people being offered DIFFERENT perks who have the Disney Visa, but nothing is specifically geared toward DVC members.

And DVC does accept credit cards as payment for most items (including the bulk purchase of an add-on), so yes, you can get those reward dollars.

Be advised that it did seem to take a loooooong time for the application process to be completed. We received one of those "you've already been approved" mailings. I swear it was every bit of 6 weeks before we had the cards in our hands.

I used it for the DVC discount a few times when I didn't have my DVC ID with me. I showed it and they "believed me" although I guess the card saying "DVC member" doesn't really MEAN anything. I had left my DVC card in my wallet back at the room... This got me a discount in restaurant Marrakesh.

There is a great offer right now for DVC members who get the Disney Visa. Look on Page 3 of our current Vacation Magic Spring 2004 edition. After you apply and use your card you get a free copy of the "Disney Treasures" book. We bought this book in February and I think we paid about $65.00 for it with tax. So I think that's a good deal. It's a terrific book with samples of what the original tickets at Disneyland looked like and also lots of other samples of things on Disney. I wish I would of waited on buying the book if I would of known about this offer.

There's another offer I picked up at the Disney store for the general public that offers $25.00 Disney dollars after your first use of the card.

The card looked like it had Disney Vacation Club member at the bottom of the card in the picture in our Vacation Magic. That would be something I would ask Bank One about if you apply using the code listed for the free "Disney Treasure" book.
