DVC - AKL Jambo House

So it's different the the full jacuzzi in the other DVCs like at Kinadi?

Yes, these are converted hotel rooms that did not have a separate shower and oversized tub. They replaced the existing tub with a jetted tub.

Thanks! Need some opinions!

Better to stay at Kinadi instead of Jambo house 1-bedroom? i was looking forward to a jucuzzi. Last time we just stayed at Jambo house in a studio.

The Kidani Village 1-bedroom will be larger that the ones in Jambo House. It will also have 2 bath rooms where Jambo has only 1.

Last week we were in a 1 BR at Jambo House. We also toured the Kidani model unit while there to eat dinner at Sanaa. The master bath tub was exactly the same in both. The difference is at Jambo there is no separate shower.

Here is a picture of the tub and shower in our 1 bedroom at Kidani:

We had a handicapped concierge 1 bedroom at Jambo. There was no tub, just a roll in shower. We also had 1 night in a regular 1 bedroom and I wasn't crazy about the combo tub/shower, it wasn't easy to get in.

I second what mousefan1972 said. It's the same whirlpool tub. The difference is the shower, not the tub. In Jambo House it's a combination whirlpool tub and shower so when you want to take a shower you have to climb up and over that high-sided tub. In Kidani you get the same tub but there is a separate (and very large) shower stall.

I prefer the arrangement in the other DVCs where one person can use the shower and the other use the tub in privacy since they are in separate rooms. Kidani's arrangement is less than ideal but at least the shower and tub can be used at the same time if both people are comfortable sharing the same bathroom space.

Thanks everyone! I prefer the other DVCs arrangements better too! We're going to try for Kidani next March for the 1-bedroom. Seems like the bathroom arrangement will be much better.

It may be that since Kidani has the extra bathroom they felt they didn't need to do the same sort of separation between the shower and the tub.

No, the reason the shower is in the tub at Jambo house is because there wasn't room for the separate shower. Kidani rooms have the separate shower, so the huge tub isn't as a big an issue as it is at Jambo. The shower being in the huge tub at Jambo makes it very difficult for us old folks to get in and out of the shower!;)

KAT4DISNEY was referring to the arrangement at Kidani where the tub and shower stall are right next to each other, as opposed to at OKW, BWV, etc. where the tub is in it's own room and more private. At the earlier DVC resorts, someone can use the tub in private while someone else uses the shower in private. The bathroom layout at Kidani removes that option unless the shower taker uses the separate bathroom instead of that nice big shower stall.

My post was about Kidani - not Jambo. It was a thought I had referring to Lisa's comment about Kidani and how the shower right next to the same tub that is at Jambo. Whereas at other DVC's the shower and tubs are in completely separate rooms.

lol - as Lisa already clarified!

How were the roll-in showers at Jambo? Did they flood the bathroom? The only handicapped room I've stayed in is at a Marriot & Hilton, both of which left the bathroom floor dangerously wet. I don't know which is worse, risking a fall climbing out of a tub or slipping on a wet floor. We've stayed at Kidani before & would consider Jambo for our trip next May if they had the separate shower. I wish more hotels had regular showers. I don't need or like roll-in showers but climbing out of a tub is difficult for me.
