Hi, my name is Joe and I am a DVC addict. (Hi, Joe)

We have no points left on our two contracts, yet when the school calendar came out and we saw there was a four day weekend over Yom Kippur the wheels started turning! We got great airfare (136) on American out of OHare and booked Concierge BC for 4 nights. Then I was checking out OKW cash rate Friday and found a 1BR for 255 a night (which wasnt available a few weeks ago!) SO we jumped on it. $100 a night cheaper than Concierge BC, with a washer and dryer and kitchen.

Thanks for letting me share.

(applause---thanks for sharing, Joe)

thanks Joe-
admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery :)
Anyhoo- I'm addicted, though I usually only plan 1 trip a year, I live and breathe WDW and DVC. I can talk endlessly about this topic to several other fans and owners at work. It;s sad though, my next trip is well over 200 days away and I'm already packing, making lists, making plans.....

Hi Joe,

I am an addict too. All my husband has to do is give me the go ahead and I have the entire trip planned in hours. When he says it he better mean it!!

Disney and DVC are the best combo!!;)

Hi I'm Marylyn and I'm a DVCaholic. I need a fix every couple of months resulting in a DVC trip, but I cannot satisfy my urges without a trip to WDW being planned. I have two planned now with another in the works for, maybe January. I am hooked. I have a higher power but its the mouse that rules me!! Maybe I need an intervention. Any takers?

Count me as a "Disneyholic" too. If I'm not planning a trip, I'm reading boards, finding new websites, checking airfares or ordering new WDW planning videos, to see if there's anything new!

Add me to the addict list. Don't know who to give credit to for the following, but it is fun:

Disneyitis (Dis ney i' tis) n 1. Condition related to the uncontrollable desire to return to the World. Subjects with this condition are known to frequent note files, web pages, and newsgroups. Only known relief is a trip to Walt Disney World. There is no permanent cure....and no cure is being researched as those afflicted don't WANT one! Has also been known to infect Disneylanders. People who suffer from Disneyitis have also been known to spend an unusual amount of time at their local Disney Stores to temporarily relieve some of the symptoms associated with the disease. They will also tape, watch, re-watch, and re-re watch Disney videos, specials, parades, vacation planners, etc. Also will subscribe to Disney Magazine, and will read every brochure on Disney they can get their hands on. They will sport hats, coats, jackets, pants, and carry bags with Disney logos. Can't go more than one full year without going to the world without becoming suicidal, or worse, Homicidal! And no matter how many vacation days they take, they always seem to get ticked off at everything one or even two days before they have to leave the world and go back to the rat race.

Sign me up too. You can never have too many trips planned for WDW. Next one in 2 weeks, then 11 days in December. Don't have plans after that and I'm already in severe withdrawal.

4 trips this year (total of 30 nights in the world) and already have ressies for 2 next year. If it wasnt for that darn 11 month window, I'd have Halloween and December booked too!

I'd go every 3 months if I could. (well I did this year but I mean on a regular basis).:hyper:

Count me in as a Disney addict as well. We have two contracts, but are always taking family and friends and getting a two bedroom unit and a studio. With that said, we only go once a year!

It's so comforting to know I'm not alone in my addiction. After returning from 9 wonderful days at BCV two weeks ago, DH and I sunk into deep PDD [Post-Disney Depression]. Nothing at home seemed magical and we found ourselves craving fireworks or at least a parade each evening. Then Southeast Airlines announced special Fall fares - $124. roundtrip - so what could we do? We booked a long weekend at OKW for Halloween! Now we can get our daily fix of counting down and planning.
I'm a little afraid to tell anyone we're going back so soon though. Non-DVC'ers just don't understand. They're starting to look at me funny whenever I utter the "D" word. But that's ok, because i have the support of my fellow addicts on the DIS. This is an addiction from which I hope I never recover! princess: pirate:

I, too, have suffered with this "problem" for a number of years. As a single person, before kids - others thought me odd. At the height of my condition, I was at the world 3 times in 11 months. Family and friends were baffled and I believe there were plans for an intervention or at least the "are you crazy?" conversation from family and friends.

But then things changed. I had a baby and early on there was no time (or energy!) to even think Mickey! But so they thought.... Until a last minute trip to WDW lead us right to the DVC office at BW. Thirty minutes later we were members! Figured if you can't beat um, join 'em!

I'm just greatful for these boards.....few people understand this addiction!

Hey wendydarling826! We're neighbors! :wave2:

Hi! I made it back from my 1st visit to WDW. It was supposed to have been a week long trip with the just the kids and me, but we returned early because of Frances. I didn't get to talk with any DVC reps etc..... We stayed at the CBR. I have two other trips planned: OCT/NOV (husband has a convention & son has 2 days off from teacher workdays we're turning into 5 days) . We're going back for just a vacation for 11days in December. I also looked at possible trips (probably with just the kids and me) at the end of January, March during their Spring Break, and 1st week of June (hopefully Star Wars Weekend will happen). So, that's a possible 6 trips within one calendar year, and I haven't even talked to a DVC rep yet! This is what I think would work out best for our family from what I've read here on the boards: Buy resale contract VWL if possible for December stays. (I'd like to start a family tradition of going the week before Christmas MVMCP etc...) BWV or OKW contract for late Winter trips through Spring. My husband and son love to play golf. I imagine we'll need to be pretty close to some of these golf courses. Maybe Saratoga Springs or BCV would be perfect. We'll probably always go last week of October/November since my son's school district seems to take the 1st Monday and Tuesday off for teacher workdays in November. To all of you DVC addicts: (I may be one in the making...we'll see) Which resort would you suggest for Fall trip? We like all of the parks so far. My kids are 3 and 11 yrs old. My DH likes to golf. I like all of the parks, but haven't been to AKL yet. I like to shop, but would rather spend time at the shows and in Fantasyland with my 3 yr old daughter. I love to cook while on vacation. Mainly why I think the DVC villas will work out for us

I am the worst kind of addict. The kind that hooks her own son just to keep her company!
When I took my six year olds to the book store to get some new trip planning books, one son said " Mom we already have one at home". The other son pulled out a book about Disneyland and kept showing me pictures and saying " Mom look this castle looks different then ours, Mom we didn't see this ride at ours, Mom when can we go to this one also."
I will never admit it to anyone else but my co-addicts but I now have a favorite child.

My name is Jamie and I am an Disneyoholic.

To Micki7337 - Hi Neighbor! I also see from your countdown that you're going to be at OKW the same time we are in October! That makes two fewer houses in D-town for the trick or treaters!

I always feel so quilty not being home on Halloween! At least this year the kids won't miss the parade/party at school.

It really is a small world!:wave2:

I know the feeling, Jimbo - I tried recovery but only got to the first step - recognition . . . and recognized it wasn't a problem!! And when its not a problem, then its a decision - so we decided keep coming back "home"!! Rum runners for everyone!
