DH and I are looking to add on to our current BLT DVC membership. We bought it directly from WDW shortly after BLT opened. However, as time has gone on, we realize we want/need more points.

I called member services today, and found out that the per point cost is a bit steep for us (especially when you're looking at adding on 100 points).

So, my question, if we were to buy through a resale site for 100 points at BLT during the same use year as we already have, am I going to have to deal with 2 membership ID cards and all the hassles that go with that? Or, will WDW see that I have the same home resort, in the same use year, and automagically combine them both under 1 membership ID (and make my life a lot easier)?

Thanks!

We are in the process of adding on and I was told that if you have the same UY, and the deed is titled the same they will put the two contracts under one membership. I can't state this as fact because we haven't closed yet, but that's what I've been told by both people here on the DIS and the agent we are working with.

What make something a different membership is a different UY or a different title.

So, if you do it like your current contract it will be the same membership. Just a reminder, though, that the new BLT points you get via resale will have the restrictions on them, even though your original ones do not.

Being under the same membership won't change that.

Your will most likely read on your original contract number (123456XXX ), when you add on and if titled the same as before and same UY it should read (123456xxx.1 )then 3rd contract even if at a different resort but same UY it would be (123456xxx.2 ) At least thats what ours is.

Unless DVC has recently changed, you CAN get them on the same contract, IF your have the following conditions:

  • Same Resort
    Same Use Year
Exactly the Same Titleing of the Contract (Don't switch order of names, or leave off initials that are on the original contract)
Emphasize to your sales agent that you want this done as a sub to your existing contract. They need to pass that information on to DVC. It might even help with ROFR
