If there is a thread, please point me to it, but I have a question about a 1 bedroom villa at a DVC (doesn't really matter which one because we've never stayed at a DVC)....are there 2 bathrooms in a 1 bedroom villa? If NOT, is the only bathroom actually IN the bedroom? I ask because that would disturb the person sleeping in the bedroom when I shower or use the bathroom....because I'll be the on the pull out in the living room?

Help?? I have read the descriptions on allears, but not quiet visualizing the layout.

There is only one bathroom but two rooms worth of stuff. There is a shower toilet and sink off of the livingroom with a door that leads to another room with a tub and sink. The tub and sink room leads to the master bedroom.

We have not found the set up to be a problem for our family, especially if you are going to shower. Now taking a bath is another story.

There is only one bathroom in the 1 bedroom. But it is a split design with multiple entrances. It is hard to picture. The Whirlpool tub, sink and a closet are off of the Master Bedroom. There is a door, but there is also a folding screen over the tub which opens the area to the Master bedroom. There is a second door to the rest of the bathroom, a separate room with a toilet, sink and shower.
We have stayed where adult DS was on the Queen size pullout in the Living Room. We never had any trouble with sharing the bathroom. The design makes it easy for multiple people to get ready at the same time. It is convenient and private.
Have a Great Trip.

What TAKitty says is true for most of the DVC resorts. However, the one bedroom we stayed at in OKW was not like this. You had to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. Also, once the villas in Kidani are built at the AKV then the one bedrooms there will have two bathrooms.

The split bathrooms work great for showering and using the facilities. Doors can be closed and no one will be bothered.

Thanks TaKitty and Hopefully...great descriptions....I can shower without disturbing the late sleeper (DH) :rotfl:

Presently, all one BRs have one bathroom. But with most the bathroom is split. One room contains the shower and water closet. This part of the bathroom can be accessed from the living room without entering the master. There's a connecting door from that part of the bathroom to the section with the whirlpool tub which does open to the master bedroom. This is the design at BWV,VWL and BCV.

Jambo House at AKV has one large bathroom with one door that opens to a hall.

So no worries.

OKW has different configurations than the other DVC. As I recall, one could enter the shower/toilet area through the laundry room as well as from the master bedroom. But there might be some original buildings with the door through the master only. I'm sure an OKW owner will be along to help with that.

When Kidani Village opens, those one BRs will have two full baths with one off the living area.

Our one bedroom in OKW didn't have a door from the laundry room to the bathroom. You had to go through the bedroom. We were in building 14

Thanks, Shelly. I thought that was the case but we've only had 2 short stays at OKW and had the newer configuration in them. And I was typing away...slowly...when you posted before.

I wonder how many buildings at OKW have that setup. I'm pretty sure it's the original buildings.

I believe it's all the buildings under 30 that have the one entrance for the bathroom.

::yes, Michael is correct.
The buildings numbered 30 and under at OKW were the first ones built. They are the only buildings at OKW that have entry to the bathroom only thru the Master Bedroom.
When we have stayed in one of those rooms, we have not found it to be really a problem. We just leave the door to the Master Bedroom ajar so whoever is sleeping on the sofa can get into the bathroom. We don't really hear them.

When they started the next phase of buildings, they added a door from the laundry room into the bathroom. So, if you are in a building 31 or up, there is a door into the Bathroom without going thru the Master Bedroom.

You'll be amazed by the Bathroom setup......there are so many doors....I kept going in the closet to go to the "toilet room":lmao:

We're staying in a 1bdrm in VWL.
I'm planning on putting either DS 3 (on an airbed) or DD 1 (in pack & Play) in the closet, which I think is in the Tub portion of the bathroom. Do you think they might be woken up if someone flushes? I'm hoping they'll be so exhausted from the parks they'll sleep through it!

Has anyone else done this?

That is great information to have. Dh and I loved the one bedroom at OKW and thought it would be a great choice if we took both our neice and our nephew but were concerned about the bathroom issue. Our nephew is a step nephew who is pretty new to our family (he's also 13) and I don't know how comfortable I would be with him coming into our room at night. I know it would just be a request but now I know we could request a room in buildings about 30

Thank you all for all the great info and clarifications for the different villas. Much appreciated
