We love it at Swan/Dolphin/Swan Reserve.... Worth a slightly longer walk in my view... Great beds, great dining...

We usually upgrade our room to a suite, so other than the lack of W/D and a full kitchen you get a DVC-esque experience...

I need space when I travel.

Seconding this - we haven’t stayed at the Swan since becoming DVC members and I actually miss it! I’ve mentioned this on other chats but their summer rates are tough to beat. I also used to have great luck with Christmas/NYE rates.

Do you trade points for this?

They’re Marriott properties so you can’t trade points. Sometimes they do offer AP discounts. If you travel again this same time of year - end of August/September - it could be worth just paying and saving your points

Wow thats so interesting, Marriott property, but a Disney hotel? Or is it even considered a disney hotel. I'm a Marriott fan, i would do that pay and save points, it looks really nice. They gave us free ponchos and umbrellas when we visited and it was raining.

I wish dvc would take it over, another crescent lake resort would be highly welcomed!

Nope, technically not a Disney hotel but is treated like a deluxe Disney resort in almost every sense.

Also if you are a Bonvoy member of a certain status, you’ll receive daily breakfast vouchers. (I think this may be why I miss it - it’s so easy to roll out of bed down to the lobby for an egg sandwich and matcha latte…it’s the little things ).

Most use Marriott points. The DVC point trade for it would not be worth it. (Through II if available)

I've stayed there many times, including having a night on my upcoming October trip.

We hadn't either, other than the Swan.

I hadn’t even been to WDW before I bought DVC. lol

we wills sometimes burn through Marriott points to do this. Amex Hotel collection is also an option.... typically we pay cash though.

honestly, I don't find Marriott points worthwhile, but I used to travel a lot and had their card for a while, which means I have a lot of them to keep using up... we typically do swan/dolphin for a one or two night stay when there's a good cash rate or we will use points for a 5 night because Marriott points do 5th night free... I think e have about 2 5 night trips left with our points and then we will move on to either cash there or staying somewhere else...

if I were still traveling a lot today, I'd do Hyatt their points still have some great value, including at grand cypress which is very close to the magic kingdom.

Over the summer I saw $225 including tax (this was late August). That is especially low but I’d say $250-$275 inclusive of tax/resort fee is typical for August. Peak seasons you could see $350-$450.

Then if you have a car that's another $38 plus tax for self parking. Valet is $59 (?) I think, plus tips.

Thank you! All these seperate fees do matter to us and id be happy to pay the August rate, but wouldnt look to go peak season based on your replies!
