DV 0% financing question

So I've read through a couple of these threads already, but I want to make sure I've got it right.. So I booked at package through Disney when the DV discount came out. They of course put the $200 deposit on the card.

Now... If I'm understanding this correctly, I can call to have the full balance applied to the card, and as long as I pay off everything else for the month I can choose to leave the package amount on there and not be charged interest, right? Or should I have had them put the entire thing on the card when I first booked? Also, if I have a Disney gift card I'd like to apply to the package, can I go ahead and call and apply it, then have whatever remaining balance go to the card and still be 0% for 6 months?

We could just go ahead and pay it off, but I like the idea of not removing a huge chunk from our savings account and just paying it off as we go. Even when I know we have plenty in the bank and it's the same either way, I hate seeing those big chunks clear.

Every payment you make on a Disney Vacation package with your Disney Visa is eligible for the 6-months-no interest. You'll have 6 months to pay off the $200 deposit and 6 months to pay off any subsequent payments you make. You can make an interim payment with your Disney gift card, or you could choose to save that and use it for souvenirs and incidentals in the parks.

As long as you pay off the entire current amount of "other transactions" that you make in a month, you will not accrue interest on your Disney Visa. What I will generally do is round up to the nearest round number, like if I owe $123.86, I'll pay $150 that month and the extra will apply to my vacation balance. But even if you don't pay off your new transactions, you won't accrue interest on the Disney Vacation package, only on the new balance due.

Hope this makes sense and answers all your questions! :)

Personally, I'd apply the gift card asap then wait until the last minute to make the final payment. Why make your 0% expire sooner?

Also I don't use that card for every day purchases.(Luv my SWA card!)
I'm afraid of how they apply payments. I think they apply to the minimum payment to the regular balance then the rest goes to the 0% balance.
I don't want my regular everyday purchases end up accruing interest until the promo is paid off. :scratchin I'm not 100% on this but I don't want to find out the hard way. My Disney visa is just for booking WDW packages or DCL trips.

No, the 0% interest charges are the last ones to have money applied to them, due to credit card regulations passed a few years ago. It used to be that all credit card companies applied payments to lowest-interest promotional balances first, then higher-interest balances last, but the regulations changed that, and they are required to apply payments to the highest-interest balances first.
