Duty free or in USA

Are perfume prices generally cheaper or dearer in the USA that at Duty Free Gatwick. I expect it would be better if I could state a particular brand/scent etc but I'm not sure yet what I am after.

I don't know about USA prices but sometimes TESCO have lower prices than duty free.

Elaine, click on this link to see what the current perfime prices are at WalMart (NB There are 3 pages in total). I'm sure there are better places in Orlando to buy perfumes but at least this gives you some idea of the costs you might expect to pay.

You could print these pages off and bring them with you to the duty free to see where the best deal is...

Personally, I didn't find many bargains at the Duty Free in Orlando. Perfume in particular was (I thought) expensive and could be bought back home for less.
There was a perfume shop at Pointe Orlando which I was in, but again the prices were nothing to write home about.
Wal*Mart or Target (my all time favourite shop) I think are the best places in the USA to buy anything, so it many be worth a look there also.

Cheapest places are the clearance stores like Ross Dress For Less and T J Maxx. Limited ranges - they've got what they've got and when it's gone it's gone, but prices are usually half (or even less) those in the high street here.

The outlet stores can be good too e.g. the Calvin Klein store at Beltz on I Drive often has very good offers but obviously only stocks CK perfumes. Similar thing at the Polo Ralph Lauren store.

Best price/range combination we found last trip was at Eckerd drug store (there's one on almost every corner) but they had a special promotion on 'designer' fragrances at that time.

There are lots of options. Enjoy shopping around!
