Hi there,

I'm going in September during the free dining plan. We have gone the past two years and made quite a few ADRs but I do like to leave some planning up to chance.

I have booked ADRs for every dinner except one... so I have a TS credit left.

Do you think it will be impossible to use? I wouldn't mind just popping into one of the DTD places or at our resort (CSR) at some point. I don't want to make another ADR though, is this risky?

Also, how are the crowds during free disney dining? I just realized that a lot more people might book for this time (or maybe it is just us deal obsessed people! i don't know... ), should I worry about crowds? I have only been during November and December and those crowds were ideal.

Thanks.! :cheer2:

I think its likely that it will be easier than usual to get in as a walk up at many places....there seem to be a lot of people booking multiple dining reservations, and there are likely to be plenty of no-shows.

We've eaten without reservations and no wait every time we've visited Nine Dragons. On an emh night (before reg. park closing time) last Jan. we had the choice of either Akershus or the Garden Grill (those were where we checked....there were likely many others).

While I wouldn't go without any reservations for a whole trip....for one night, if you're reasonably flexible, it shouldn't be a problem. September is typically a slow season, which is part of the reason they're offering free dining.

We did walk ups and last minute ADRs during free dining last year. But you're not going to get the real popular places. If you're flexible and willing to travel, you'll be able to eat.

We came last year at the same time, we missed our first ADR because we arrived too late. After having dinner at Boma we knew we HAD to come back there another day on our trip and decided to try breakfast. On our way out of the restaurant we stopped at the podium and made an ADR for breakfast a few days later.

Not sure how easy it will be for you, and I'm not sure I'd try to get a same day ADR, but maybe at least a day or two in advance you'll decide where you'd like to be??? You'll definitely have to be flexible, but I don't think you'll be entirely out of luck.

Wendi2000 how were the crowds last year......my family will be at Pop 9/23-10/2 some of the same days you'll be there. See you there (maybe)....

Not very crowded at the beginning of our trip, but it definitely got busier and busier each day we were there, mostly after the F&W Fest started. Nothing outrageous though.

Don't rule out the possibility of using it for breakfast or lunch. You should have no problems at all using it with that much flexibility.
