During Easter week how bad are the afternoon / evening crowds?

We're going the week before Easter and planning on getting into the parks early, then leaving for an afternoon break.

What time is it safe to go back into the parks in the afternoon? How long are the attraction lines? I just want to know what to expect.

Thanks!

Just bumping this up ...

We're also going that week and with Disney just extending the opening hours again and now putting on EMH at MK every day they are obviously expecting even bigger crowds than they previously had planned for.

See ya there! I keep planning to do the rides in the AM and something else in the PM..... not as fun as getting off a ride only to hop back on. Oh well we will still be there.

During Eastertime, most crowded time of day in any park is 10:30 to 3 (the "prime hours"). At Epcot, many things became fairly easy to get on after 3 (but not Test Track, Mission Space). At MGM, after 4 is fairly good for many things, except Mermaid, RnR and Tower -- when there are two Fantasmics, those last two can actually get down to a 30 minute wait or less during the first Fantasmic. At MK, there is a somewhat lighter period between 4 and 8 and things other than the mountains, Pooh, Peter Pan, Dumbo can be fairly easy to get on. After 8 huge crowds return to MK and it actually gets just as crowded as being there at noon; however, lines for even the mountains decrease during the nightly parades. At AK, lines usually decrease somewhat last two hours park is open.

The lines: (a) MK: the mountains, Pooh, Dumbo and Peter Pan will run 90 minutes to 2 1/2 hours from about 10:30 on; even the Treehouse gets to over an hour during the prime hours; fastpasses will run out before 11 for popular attractions; (b) Epcot: Test Track will go to about 3 hours by 11 and stay there for rest of day, Mission space will also have 2 hour line; Fastpasses for the two will run out by noon; other attractions, other than first thing in the morning, will be very crowded until later in the day; Spaceship Earth can get 60 minute line early in the morning (it is the first thing everyone sees when they arrive and, like a magnet, everyone just goes there) but after 3, it is a walk-on; (c) MGM: Tower, Mermaid, and RnR reach two hours or more and stay there all day, fastpasses can run out by 1; other attractions during prime hours get to 60 minutes or more; (d) AK: first hour in the morning is somewhat OK, then lines for Safari and Dinosaur can get to 2 to 2 1/2 hours, others 60 minutes or more during prime hours; fastpasses can run out by noon.

Yeah I just noticed this too. Yikes! And we're not even going during Easter, we're going the week before :worried:

Hey drusba,

Thanks so much for taking the time to post. That is really useful information; just the kind I needed.

Thanks !

Hello,
