Can anyone tell me about the dumbo play area? Is it inside the waiting area for Dumbo? Thanks!

I have a 2 year old, 4 year old, and 6 year old. They all loved this area...and it was a nice place to relax. Of course, you don't go right on Dumbo afterwards, you still have to wait in a line, so my kids were sad to leave the play area and then a little impatient in line.

When we were there last holiday season, they couldn't get the kids out of the play area fast enough to even fill up the rides. They were running them about half full. Once you got in line, you only had to wait until the ride cycle ahead of you was done. Don't know if that was the norm, but we rode it a few times during the week, and it was always that way when we rode it.

As parents, we actualy hated the play area, as was also being voiced by many of the parents there alongside us, because it was about impossible to get the kids out to ride the ride. The CMs told us when we entered that they had the pagers set for 8 minutes. The kids were not wanting to leave when the beepers went off. CMs were coming in to try to help the parents get the kids out...and they kept announcing over and over that when your beeper went off you needed to go to try to help the parents encourage the kids to leave because the parents couldn't get the kids out. It would be fine, if you were looking for some place for the parents to just sit and hang out a while for a little break while the kids continued to play, but it isn't fine if you want to ride the ride and then move on to other things. I wouldn't do it first thing in the morning, because it is a time suck. Instead of getting through some of the rides that will have longer lines the later it gets in the day, you will be sitting watching the kids playing in an area similar (but obviously better themed at WDW) to what you can find at a McDonald's or Chick-Fil-A at home. We heard one Dad tell his kids that he didn't pay all that money to take them to WDW to sit and watch them play all day in a play area like the one down the street from their house and that if they didn't leave, their next vacation was going to be to the McDonalds down the street.

Aw. Never thought about the line afterwards. Was it a long wait?

We went in August and I can't remember if we weren't given pagers or if they didn't go off or what. I know that everyone was a little confused how it worked. We waited for about 20 minutes in line after the play area.

I hadn't heard about this. I'm sure my kids will love it. I can anticipate having a hard time getting the youngest to leave though.
