Just out of curiosity, is there such a thing as a maximum number of points you can own? How about a maximum number of nights you can stay at a DVC resort? Not that this would ever be a problem for me...I wish... :cloud9:

Good questions!

The maximum ownership at a single resort is 2000 points. Maximum total points is 5000. These are supposedly based on unique memberships and thus, could be finessed in a number of ways (listing husband as owner for 2000 at a resort and then DW for 2000 at the same resort, etc.).

Many have insisted that there is a maximum number of consecutive nights ( 30 is usually the suggested number), but I have never seen any limit in print and have never found a DVC CM with any information about that (I'll chalk that up as a DVC "urban rumor".) I suspect that the actual answer is "...as many nights as you have points available". The reason usually stated for any maximum is that Disney doesn't want anyone to be able to claim residency- but that concern is clearly stated in our documents- DVC ownership does not qualify for ownership status in any way.

The minimum stay is still 1 night though! :)
