Ok, this is something I should know...but I don't so I'm gonna ask it...

Lets say I book a room/package today...then next week get a code for room rate, can I "update" my ressie or do I have to cancel and rebook? Then lets say a month before we leave they decide to offer free dining or something...can I have BOTH deals (I'm guessing no) or can I switch the ressie to the new deal or do I have to cancel THAT ressie and rebook again. A very nice DISer linked me to mousesavers list of past deals and it looked like my Disney Visa offered free dining or package deals the last few years during my dates...but they weren't post until September.

Im sorry if this question gets asked 100x a day, but im very interested in knowing.

Thanks!

You won't have to cancel and re-book unless you are changing from a room only to a package, or vice versa. If you are applying a discount, or even changing your dates around, or switching resorts, all that can be done by modifying your existing reservation. For our Dec. '08 trip, I think I modified mine 7 or 8 times. We changed dates (arrived one day earlier), changed categories within our resort, and had 2 or 3 different discounts applied till we found the best one. Your reservation number stays the same. It's very easy to do!

That is a relief!!
Thank you!!

No problem! And just saw your question about using more than one discount; you are right, nope, can't be done. For this past Dec., there were 3 discounts out that we were eligible for: passholder, Disney Visa, and general public. Disney Visa was the best deal, so we took that one. Once you have your reservation booked, at any time when a discount is released, call and ask if it can be applied to your reservation. Not all resorts and dates may be available, but if yours are, take it. If a better one comes out (like the Disney Visa free dining w/room discount we got in Dec.) you can always call again. Mousesavers is a great site; I check it nearly every day. Hope this helps!

It seems to me the Disney Visa offers come out later. That worries me. I've always been much more organized when planning my vacations and now it's a big waiting game. I wish they were quicker with the discounts so I know if we can go or not.

Thank you so much for all your help!
